Good way to do Barenziahs quest?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:08 pm

Is there a so-to-say good way to do Barenziahs quest? I know you can kill all her followers but she asks you to make a sacrafice anyways and then the quest stays in your log... im thinking is there an evil person i can get to follow me and sacrafice them?

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics. General topics about the the game include but are not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. This also includes console commands, and character build exploits.

I will move this now.

Ah, so that's it.

On the topic, there's not another way (that excludes killing her cultists). And since you want to be Boethiah's champion, you're surely not very 'good'. You'll have to crush the competition to prove yourself to her.

I'd roleplay and say i became her new champion so that her awful artifacts will be in safe hands, and im risking the sake of my soul so that she cannot claim anyone else for the remainder of his life... so he is doing a good thing :D

You have to think OUTSIDE the box ;D

Gotta admit, that's a nice idea. As for evil followers, Eola's fitting, but you have to finish Namira's quest to get her.

You could just rp that one of the many mercenaries you can hire is actually the leader ov a murderous group of bandits or something like that. Since they have no personality its easy to just make something up for them.

Im goin' to do The Taste Of The Dead up to the point where Eola wants me to clear out the Dungeon so that her kind can carry on with their feast, instead of helping her fullfill her cannabilistic task i will take her to Boethia..

THERE IS A WAY!!

but you need to glitch.

Basically, get a follower and go to Boethiah's shrine. Make your follower touch the pillar, then KILL ALL BUT ONE of the Cultists (You may want to use stealth or calming spells). Make sure the cultist focuses solely on you, and doesn't touch your follower. Whittle their health down to as low as possible, so that you can one shot kill them in the next step. Have the Cultist attack your stuck follower (standing so your follower is between you and the cultist works best), and AS SOON AS YOUR FOLLOWER DIES, KILL THE CULTIST. If you did it right, your follower will get revived, but will act like nothing happened, and Boethiah will speak from one of the dead cultists.

Note: Use a follower that doesn't have some kind of bonus dialogue (like training or quest assigning {Aela the Huntress}), as they will most likely lose all dialogues options that don't pertain to following you. I think it also resets the character, so their inventories will reset to normal, and their level will reset to match yours.

I did this on PS3 four times, and I'm fairly certain it works on the 360 as well.

Go to Rorkistead and help the kid Eric by speaking with his father. This will let the kid leave the farm and become a follower. His name will become Erik the Slayer. He is useless as a follower. Use him for the sacrifice.

You will feel bad at first but you will get over it and in the end you will get the nice trinket to keep in a storage chest somewhere. :)

This is a weakness of Skyrim is that you're forced down certain routes, in this case a very evil one and there are no alternates. I hired the merc in Windhelm for this task.

Mjoll is actually marked essential she can not die period so she can't even be sacrificed to begin with.

No. Essential followers won't even touch the pedestal.

Only thing I could come up with was killing all Boethia's followers, so no other innocent npc's could end up as sacrificial lamb. Only to discover the last one suddenly spoke with Boethia's voice and congratulated me on dealing with the competition. I still have the "bring a follower to Boethia's pillar" quest in my list, so I guess that one will never be finished either. Doesn't suit my character.
