Good Xbox 360 exclusives

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 12:10 am

I've been thinking about getting a Xbox 360 recently and was wondering what are some good exclusives(True exclusive or console exclusive)?

I only know a few but Im sure there is more and that is where you guys will come in.

The 360 exclusvies I want to get are

- Gears of War 3
- Fable 3
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Forza 4
- Splinter Cell: Conviction

and there is this new mmo zombie game that is codenamed "class 3" and "class 4" Class 4 being the bigger and completely finish version of class 3, which will be smaller and be a xbl downloadable.

So what other 360 exclusives/ console exclusive should I get?

If you can cope with turn based, Lost Odyssey walks all over any other jrpgs, imo. Proper writing.

Thanks for mentioning Alan Wake, I had forgot about that game. But honestly if I get Gears 3 and Fable 3, I'm not going back to Gears 1/2 and Fable 2.

Just looked at my kids' games. Couple of Naruto games, Crackdown 2, Bladestorm and Infinite undiscovery are the only exclusives they have, I think, maybe.

If you're purchasing now and want to bridge some time, Gears 2 is not such a bad choice. Especially since Gears 3 takes some time to come out and Gears 2 is not a bad or ugly looking game. Besides that, you can probably pick it up from the bargain bin somewhere. And, if you're interested in Forza 4, I can also suggest trying your hand at Forza 3 first. :)

Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Tales of Vesperia
Final Fantasy XIII*
Star Ocean: The Last Hope*
Eternal Sonata*
Resonance of Fate*
Infinite Undiscovery

If you happen to be into shooters (shmups):

DeathSmiles
DeathSmiles IIX (Games on Demand)
Mushihimmesama Futari 1.5 (Import)
Espgaluda II (Import)

*PS3 as well. I assumed by also asking for console exclusives you didn't already have a PS3.

Those are the ones I really recommend. Although Halo:Reach actually sort of surprised me. It was pretty damn good.

Don't bother with Fable 3. It's terrible. I'm not just Fable bashing - I may well be the biggest fan of the first two games you'll actually find on this forum. Fable 3 was rushed. It's a mess of several half baked ideas pulled together under genuinely the worst written story I have ever experienced in a "triple A" title. It's also the only game in the franchise that designates your player character with an alignment - good guy. If you want to be evil the whole experience will feel very inconsistent what with you slaughtering villagers one second and then promising to reopen their university the next. Get Fable 2. Its cartoony aesthetics are far nicer than its successor's bland hues of grey, which means that the graphics still hold up, and literally everything else about it is superior.

Anyway.

Alan Wake and the Halo games (get 3 and Reach. 3 is a bargain and Reach has some of the best multiplayer on the console. ODST should be boycotted out of principle (and it's pretty bad anyway)) are the only 360 exclusives aside from Fable 2 that I think are worth it. Mass Effect is a Microsoft exclusive and in some ways it's better than ME2 (depends whether you like RPG or action elements more). Fallout 3 is technically superior on the 360 - the PS3 version is pretty buggy.

Frankly there's not much left in the way of exclusives for the Xbox. If I were buying now I'd go with the PS3 (and this coming from one who only owns the 360).

Am I the only person that liked odst it set a nice tone with a great soundtrack. I think youll be alright with fable3, just treat it as a standalone game. I would recommend fable tlc I think its backwards compatible.

Like I said, it should be boycotted out of principle. It was a cash cow with a poorly structured story and literally recycled multiplayer. Microsoft should never be rewarded for that with sales.

I really don't think treating Fable 3 as a standalone game will make it any better. It's a downright bad game. Even if you were to avoid comparing it to its infinitely superior prequels you can't help but judge it by the quality of, you know, other games. Which are all better.

Fable TLC is backwards compatible but it's a bit glitchy on the 360. I recommend the PC version (it's an old game so an old PC should be able to run it) or just playing it on the Xbox original. The framerate is pretty irritating running it on the 360.

This. I agree with others they posted. But I just finished metro 2033 again. Its an amazing game. Atmosphere is the best I have ever seen in a game. Great story, great gameplay

I loved fable (tlc), after that it just wennt downhill. 2 I despised, I am bitter about it though becuase I loved fable 1 and was dissapointed. 3 on the other hand, uh its just bad. I set my expectations at 2 and just hoped for that at worst, hope they learned from thier mistake. But no, it was just terrible. Now its a kinnect game. Also I know your from the LH forums, did you know some devs left, that suprised me, I think fable isnt just being dragged down, but its dragiing LH down with it.

I still need to get Alan wake, but it looks good.

Buy reach its a good game. Halo 3 is great too, apparently still has a communit, so I need to buy it back, but the SP was great.

It's hard to find a game that got hit harder by the old nostalgia goggles expectations than Fable 2. Objectively speaking I consider it to be better than TLC (although TLC will always hold the special place in my heart, so I can see where you're coming from).

I know that a couple of developers (most notably the Carter brothers) have left to start their own independent projects, but that was a while ago before The Journey came along and savaged what was left of the company's reputation (although one thing that I think Molyneux should broadcast quite urgently is that it's the Milo team working on The Journey, not the Fable 1, 2, 3 team who are presumably working Fable 4 but PM did hint recently that they might be focusing on a new IP... anyway, TANGENT). I don't think the situation there is at abandon ship for anyone yet by a long way.

Considering the move towards Zynga business practices in the industry in the hopes of attaining Zynga profits you should probably start boycotting greedy companies too.

I belive Sam left, and The bag. I dont know what the bags, job was, but I belive he is starting his own company.

I dont think F2 got hit by nostagia, maybe it makes me a it more bitter. But ignoring that I still feel fable 1 was superior, more spells thad did more varied things, not just variety for that but the other trees felt more fleshed out too, especially skill. Fable tlc also had a charm. Its not nostalgia, but I dont know what it is. But I felt fable 2 lacked it. Only thing I think fable 2 did right was the purity/corruption and the expression wheel. Oh and Reaver.

Also aside from all other problems, fable 3 didnt even tie up loose ends with 2, we never see/hear abot your sister, garth or hammer ever again :/

Ignore the above, get ODST. It's one of, if not the best game, of the Halo series.

Edit: Gah, the multiplayer wasn't recycled!
