I've got good news

The good news Grim Reaper Sprint is in the game and it has been watered down

Grim Reaper's Sprint (1 Rank)

Prereq: None besides being LV 20

If you kill a target in V.A.T.S., twenty action points are restored upon exiting V.A.T.S. mode.

That is a much better and more balanced version then its Fallout 3 version where it was broken as hell

I never used it in FO3 (it never really fit my builds) but the moment I saw that it was still level 20 I had a half second of concern - GRS didn't bother me as a final perk but with the higher cap it was overpowered. I expected Obsidian to simply make it a level 30 perk in FONV but I think toning it down was a much better decision.

I never used it in FO3 either, by the time my chars were level 20, i had better skills to get at 20, like Ninja (im mainly a sneak/melee kind of person) and if i remember correctly the perk was Adventurer(the one where you could see all locations on map, but not FT to them)

The Fallout 3 version of this perk was broken. The effect was if you kill someone is Vats your Vats meter was automatically restored. The New Vegas version is balanced its only 20 points which is like 1/4 of your meter

I wouldn't say it was "broken".. If you killed your target your VATS meter was restored.. but by the time you were at level 20 you were way over powered anyway so it didn't matter. The perk just added some added fun to something that no longer mattered. Leveling in F3 was the broken bit. You shouldn't have been able to get to level 20 so easily.. heck if you had all the DLC and did those and then did sidequests you could get to level 30 before even starting the main story. That's what I hope is fixed. Seriously, if the level cap is 30 then you should have to really work at it to get there. I mean exploring the entire map.. doing everything there is to do.. and then having to farm for xp.

Yeh, like someone said, if you could get GRS when you were weaker, it would be more balanced becuase you could not kill everything with the maxium shots in vats

VATS Seems like it's going to be kind of worthless in this game, anyway. Since you can finally use the iron sights/whatever obstruction is on the weapon, aiming without VATS is going to get a hell of a lot easier. Still, nothing beats the satisfaction of scoring a headshot on a target with a sniper rifle while in VATS. Borderline nerdgasm.

A reason they created it.

Some people like that turn base feel. *cough* Gizmo *cough*

Its nice they implemented something to imitate it.

Maybe in a future fallout game VATS will have an overhaul and be seen as a viable and challenging game mechanic to use instead of being our own personal life alert and slow-mo kill cams.

Not that I mind the slow-mo kill cam :hubbahubba:

Vats is what I would like to call my emergency button if your in trouble it can be really handy. Plus its easier to target lurks in Vats then it is outside of Vats.

Well, this is only further proof that Obsidian actually care about balance. ^_^

I like to free-aim melee opponents as they get close, then when they're in melee range, switch to VATS for the DR boost. In practice I rarely actually do that.
