I much prefer seamless integration...
I don't know. I always thought the integration was pretty clumsy. It's, 'You hear a radio signal'.
I understand why this is done on release -- you purchase a DLC, you want to get right into it.
What I'd like to see with the GOTY (or whatever it's called) is real integration. When you buy the game of the year, the DLCs are just extra missions, right? So they can be woven into the story in a more organic way. Imagine if, instead of just hearing the Sierra Madre broadcast as soon as you leave Doc Mitchell's, you begin (after level 10, say) hear random rumors about Camp Forlorn Hope -- maybe radio operators are disappearing in mysterious circumstances. Maybe soldiers at CFH have a rumor that a Super Mutant has been spotted skulking to the SE. Maybe that operator at CFH can share the SM frequency with you.
For Honest Hearts, maybe Ringo can confide that he's been offered a job by a Happy Trails but doesn't plan to accept -- maybe the Courier is looking for work? Maybe a Happy Trails office can be added to the main map.
Just merge them better than just getting a radio signal; again, only for the big combo release.
LOL. I'm sure the devs would love the extra work.
