I picked this up somewhere today...and now I can't do anything with it cause it says it is a quest item. I can't sell it, store it, or drop it. I have done no quests that needed it. Any suggestions on where I take it or what I do with it? I am playing the PC version after the 1.2 patch if this helps.

Did you get it from haemars shame?

It may be for Onmumd's Follower Quest in the College of Winterhold.

its a bit tricky to get rid of it, but its for the quest with two of the mages from the college, so if you picked it up before you talked to them you need to put em on a weapons racks then go back and talk to the mages, one is olmund but there is another guy you need to talk to also(i had two of the staffs actually), i wasn't activating when i was talking to the mage even though i had the staff, but once i went back to my house and put the staff on the weapon rack AFTER i talked to the mage at the college, then it updated and i was able to take the staff back off the rack and go talk to the mage, not olmund its the other guy you need to being it to i think. hope that helps.

Thanks for the help and info....just completed the quest and I am rid of the staff!
