Great games you never got into.

Has anyone else ever played a great, even legendary game that comes highly recommended, only to find that it just wasn't very fun? That's happened to me quite a bit over the years, with such "greats" as:

- GTA / Red Dead Redemption
- The Witcher 2
- Assassins Creed
- Mass Effect 2

Just a short list. Keep in mind I'm not saying these games are bad, just that I personally couldn't get into them.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The entire Assassin's Creed franchise, Grand Theft Auto IV, the entire Call of Duty franchise (they all look the same and play out the same, what the [censored] is up with that?) and the post Half-Life (1) games.

Edit: Guess I can add the the entire Gears of War grachise as well the entire Halo franchise.

Mainly because of the name.

I never got into New Vegas but that's mainly because I get tired of games easily now. I have a huge backlog.

Borderlands, don't see the appeal what so ever. I played for about 3-4 hours and just thought it was a bad game.

Demon Souls, played for an hour or so and it didn't appeal to me. I can see why people like it however.

GTA series- None of the PC's have ever appealed to me. I like games like Mafia II and The Godfather I & II but this didn't appeal to me for some reason.
