Greatest bow shot

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 11:01 am

I was playing last night and pulled off what I thought was a great shot from about forever, dropping a Draugr Deathlord (or Overlord I cannot remember now). I was standing on a rock formattion and just started firing and waiting. Never was discovered by the fool and eventually dropped him; I know if discovered I would not have won in hand to hand. It seemed like a nice distance so I was wondering what are other shots that players have accomplished.

I killed the archer at valtheim towers( the one on the rock overhang) from the other side and got a sweet killcam with it.(this was before they made arrows go through targets at a certain distance)

Once I fired an arrow at a distant dragon in the sky to try to get his attention, and missed, but got a quest update "You have killed the leader of the bandits at Iron Knife Hideout."

Not actually sure if my arrow killed him, but I'd like to think so.

I did a similar thing with the wolf queen quest. I fired an arrow at the tower from the starting platform just on the off chance I might hit them doing the ceremony. I fired, got the "thunk" noise for a sneak attack critical and the quest progressed to the next stage.

Just this morning, I was in a dungeon and there was a Draugr Overlord (or deathlord, I don't know) way up on a ledge above me. He was killing me with one shot of his bow. I got just close enough to cast a flame atronach right up on the ledge. The atronach would get a couple of hits on the Draugr and then the Draugr would Fus Roh Dah it right off the ledge. I just kept casting it, and watching it get thrown off. When the Draugr was almost dead I came out of hiding just enough to one shot him with Bound Bow. It was pretty funny!

Most epic Archery shot for me, first I'd have to say I managed to get my buddy Derkeethus some explosive arrows that seem to launch everything up like the Giants do :|
I'm on Xbox360 so no confusion of using Mods.

anyway, down at the rift. Derkeethus does what he does and starts blowing up everything that becomes hostile to me. in which in this case was a bear.
me being an archer as well I was shooting at it with just normal arrows.
Derkeethus shot the bear and it started going flying, shot it again and it just keeps going everywhere.
I couldn't see it's health since I turned my HUD Opacity all the way down. but one more time of Derkeethus making it go flying, it was coming toward me directly like it was going to land on me. I knock an arrow in my bow and kill the bear in mid air and moved out of the way 1 second before it landed.

Oh forgot about one I had the other day with Auriels bow;

slight spoiler

Spoiler
So I had just got some arrows from Serana to block the sun and I was in Markath at the time. I came out of my house and walked down the stairs. I notched an arrow and was switching to first person view twhile turning towards the east (sun up) when the courier ran up to me to give me a letter. My character spins around to face the other way and at the same time the game autofired the arrow, since I was now in dialogue. I thought "Crap, thats going to hit someone in town", and the next thing you know the suns going dark.

Didnt even aim it.

Bleak Falls Barrow. Climbed up the mountain side between the barrow and Riverwood. Sniped a bandit from the top. He never saw it coming, neither did his crew.

Love the bandit view. How did you get up there though? I thought I had tried every way imaginable to get up there.

I had a target for the dark brotherhood. it was a lady in a stronghold gaurded by imperials. I was droppin the gaurds from a distance, and the last imperial gaurd, was walking on the wall, and i got one of those sweet slow mo kills, it hit him right in the throat and he backflipped off the wall

I've had too many trick shots to remember, but the most comical one for me was being near the twisting roads near Riverwood when a dragon appeared. Rather than try to find the thing by sight, I just watched the red dot on the compass, turned and fired, and stood in awed amazement a dragon literally falls inches from me. I'm thinking, "NO WAY! I'M FREAKING THE MAN!" when the dragon on my compass landed beside me and blew me a very hot kiss reminder it was still around and demanded some iron.

It was the first time I'd ever seen two dragons in the same space as my character and I never knew they fought each other.
