Grenades (xbox 360)

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:34 pm

I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but my friend and I have Brink on 360 and the grenade explosions are next to none, literally a puff of smoke if you're lucky. I know this isn't meant to be a realistic shooter but the explosions are just pathetic.

Feedback appreciated

Its because they don't actually deal much damage and they don't have a huge blast radius. Would be disappointing if it let off a huge explosion but deal a minimal amount of damage.
They are more tactical then aggressive. Dunno if you've noticed but they inflict knockdown on nearby enemies, get a nade in a nice group of people and you've immobilised them for a few seconds. Could be the difference between you capturing an objective or not. Im sure if the grenades did 'big booms' then a knockdown is the worst of their worries.
I think the size of the explosion is an accurate representation of how powerful the grenades actually are.

i agree, they're more like water balloons filled with flour.

It might be a bug, but I noticed that before I cleared the cache and reinstalled the update the grenade made no visible explosion. After the reinstall the explosion was much more impressive. I could be wrong though, I am developing a soldier and have the ability that increases the damage of grenades. I might just be the ability.

What he said.

My main use to be Sol/Eng but I dropped the soldier just because I wanted to "help" more so I went Med/Eng. Honestly though I really miss the greades from my undermounted launcher. They would decimate groups of enemies and the explossions where satisfying.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll give soldier a go, I play mostly engineer at the moment. In regards to what the grenades do, I think that is fair, but it is still a little disappointing for me personally.

The one in a million achievement in a HUGE hint. Get the shoot grenades ability and shoot your own grenades when they are just directly OVER an enemy or group of enemies, this maximizes the area of effect, does more damage, and is an awesome looking skill shot to boot. ;)
