I am getting a horn for the grey beards, BUT, I get to three stones that open three gates. I cannot get all three gates to stay open, and the shout to move forwrd at super speed stops before I get to the first gate. Anyone know how to get past these gates or will I just have to quit another elder scolls games due to inability to get past unwanted puzzles in thise game.

sprint on the 3 stones, when you reach the last stone use 1 tap of whirlwind sprint (incase you got more than 1 level)

Agree! You're not dense. It took me a while to figure it out. You may want to be in first-person view when you do this one. I kept hitting the wall because of bad aim in third-person.

Now dense is going through nearly all possible combinations of those ring puzzles before coming on this site and realizing the solution was in the claw itself. D'oh !

You know about using the Dragon Souls to unlock the words for the shout? Well, I didn't at first. Also, you can't block while dual-wielding...took me a while to figure that out.

Alot of people have problems with that puzzle for some reason,most fo those people play on pc.
I've heard it has something with the way the controls are set up.I'm on xbox so I don't know for sure.

You just need to sprint until all the gates are open then use the whirwind sprint shout.

Dense is running through it on the 3rd try with the 1st char..... and spending 2 hour's on the next char to get through it! How did I do that!!!???

I had the same problem with the claws... I was just going through all possible combination's... bear..bear..bear...nope... moth...bear...bear..nope owl...bear...bear.Oh yeah been their did that!

I had to get the resident male to do it for me. My reflexes just werent up to it...

I know, right? Most of y'all just don't get it.

I so hate the puzzles.My mind just doesn't work that way.

My first time with this puzzle was spent in much the same fashion, until I realized that I needed to use WWS after I got past the three pillars and was approaching the first gate. I had been doing it in the reverse order instead, which doesn't work. I also discovered that I had to sprint past said pillars in order to clear the fourth gate with one-word WWS.

I even tried the somewhat out-of-the-box idea of firing off 'Become Ethereal' (fortunately, I had a couple of 'spare' Dragoon souls on hand) and attempting to phase through the gates, only to find out that Etherealness in Skyrim does not work the way it does in D&D...

Yeah, what everyone else said. It took me quite a few tries the first time, just one the second time. But the third... I was just spastic that day I guess.

And the first time with the dragon claws? I busted out a pen and lined notebook paper in order to begin elminating possibilities. Then after like the 20th attempt I noticed those little markings on the claw. Same with the pillar puzzles. "Hey, there's a whale marking behind this pillar and a wolf behind that other one. I wonder if...D'oh!"
