Hackboxes

iv'e always played as an operative since day one, it's the type of class i'm most adept with, and to be honest i always skipped the maps that had hacking as a main objective as everyone knows the op/engineer hack/remove time ratio was ungodly one sided...it took two ops as long to hack as long as it did for 1 engineer to remove, and on a mission like operation babel, the operatives stood an almost negligable chance of actually completing the objective.

now however it seems to have been reversed, certainly on resort...i was hacking the gate controls on my own when an engineer came in and started to remove it, to my disbelief it kept going up, even though he was removing it, then a second engineer came in and i was still winning the percentage fight, it still kept creeping up with two engineers removing it, on resort at least it seems like thing are now fair for operatives...i don't know about one op being able to battle two engineers, seems a little unfair (but i did have to endure almost three months of hair pulling madness, so i'm kind of chuckling at engineers at the moment, they've had their fun, now it's my turn) and i'm also glad to see the that wardens safe take longer to remove aswell

anyone else have any thoughts on this, is one op winning over two engineers unfair?

Nope. Sounds fair to me. I still dont understand why ops lose their disguise when they start hacking. So this may balance it out.

yeah, i always thought that operatives should be disguised no matter what they do until they attack or throw nades, i'm also glad that splashdamage have taken off combat intuition being trigered by a disguised op, kinda destroyed the whole idea of grabbing a disguise, running behind enemy lines to spot enemies and mines, only to be given away as soon as you aimed on the first enemy

So one engineer beating two ops wasnt fair but one op beating two engineers is fair?

Hack boxes are vastly improved now. It feels like a good balance. Now if the Animation for the HE charge could be planted a bit faster, the animation is nearly always 1 second too long. But, I'll just grumble under my breath about that.

no neither was/is fair i do however think that from the start the engineers should have been the ones that strugled with hack boxes not operatives...i think that the timing of both a hack and removal should be the same, so if an op is hid somewhere hacking and an engineer comes to remove it they reach a percentage stalemate, and the engineer either has to find the hidden operative or get another engineer to help him win the percentage fight
