I'd bet all the loose change in my pocket right now this was because of the Minecraft lawsuit...

That was what came to mind too after seeing what happened, a rather enraged bunch to put it nicely. Given the amount of whining topics regarding the subject in some raid, one of them posting in the introduction thread just yesterday also complaining about the suit. I really would't put it past them to commit to something like this.

Still atleast I know peoples usernames though I would like to know when our avatars return.

Well the good news was I only used the password on one other (non important) site. Eh, I am just slightly curious, did they attack the forums directly? Or was this another case where they attacked something else Bethesda related (Brink accounts etc) again.

Edit- I was getting attached to my Intel avatar. Hope its back soon.

My take - put in some .htaccess files, use that to block SQL exploits, block anything except know PHP files being executed.

Well this may be quite inconvenient but I will not put the blame on Bethesda, honestly in a just world there would not be any hackers and blaming Bethesda for not doing enough to keep bad people away still doesn't change the fact that in the core it's those individuals who bear the blame for deciding willingly to be destructive and chaotic. In the end it's always their fault, if it wasn't for them Bethesda wouldn't even need to have any sort of protections.

Just wanted to throw that out there before people start forgetting who the real criminals are here.

Yeah, because that one lawyer who issued the law suit is also the same exact guy who runs the forums and participates in the forums and no, it's the forum-goers who suffer from the forum getting hacked. Also, karma isn't real.

Also, relax. Everything is still intact and all that happened is the forums were down for a little while.
