I had a dream

I had a dream, that sometimes in the futures, Beth would merge all the regions into an actual world map. And give it to us to play. And even if they wont ever give us a MMO that i admit would break the magic, they could sell us a multiplayer version so we can enjoy the game with a few buddies. I think that would be really great. Please post your opinions about it and sorry if its been talked about before, i'm not a fan of the search box

IMO, the elder scrolls games should not be MMOs or multiplayer.

Besides can you imagine the thousands of bugs if Bethesda made an MMO or multiplayer game?

They already did it.
Arena featured the whole continent and Battlespire had a multiplayer mode.

However I think your dream will remain a dream.

Multiplayer in TES means TES is dead. Sounds like you had a bad nightmare.

The whole map is available, but actually detailing more than one province would be insanely difficult to do in a timely manner.

Maybe i wasn't specific: i don't want a diablo on battlenet, i want the option to invite a buddy or two to play a co-op adventure of skyrim with me, not the nightmare of moneymaking servers with chinese goldsellers living off all the imbeciles with money to spend.
All i want is te option to play with just a coupple of buddies, we wouldnt need to cheat, exploit or such so no need to implement defences and gameguards or other such abominations caused by the imbecility of children who just cant take a loss.

Imagine Going through the rough spots with your best buddy on master, commenting on getting nice killcams, nice loot, you know, nice stuff, not the crap online games have become

I agree with you kolapsys, this game is perfect for cooperative, smallscale multiplay. All Bethesda games been great for just that.

That market in itself has been neglected, possibly due to the mmo hysteria thats been going on.

Doesn't have to be everyone playing in the same world, a couple of good friends doing some kind of adventure in all casualness feels completly right in opposition to grinding mmos for loot so you can get into raids that grind better loot.

True, if it is done right it can work very well. But there really isn't a feasible way to do it right without detracting from the core experience.

I agree with you Badprenup, however the multiplayer would be made, there would be alot of compromise and alot of thought into making it right.

Perhaps some other game.
Still, the potential is there, if the various complications could be overcome.

I should have been more specific ANY kind of Multiplayer will kill TES.

EDIT: 90% of games have multiplayer for you and your friends to have fun in.
