I've had 2 of the most random Dragon incidents happen today.

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:26 pm

1. While I was swimming in the river collecting fish, a dead dragon fell on me, gave me it's soul, didn't lose it's scales, then disappeared. For some reason, I could still loot it.

2. I one shotted Odahviing with my bow and he flew into the air and kept circling around me in a small radius and wouldn't stop.

Yeah, I don't know. people have mentioned this before as well as other things falling from the sky ranging from horses to people. Someone once said it may be a spawning glitch for the other things, perhaps something similar for the dragon.

I've seen dragons fall from the sky before, but I don't think I've ever experienced anything that weird.

This isn't a bug..... It's well documented in the lore that weirder things than objects falling from the sky occur all over nirn. I mean look how high up Meridia takes you in the air during her mission. Maybe the dragon got on the wrong side of some deadric princes.

I have seen something similar but not that strange. I fought a dragon on a narrow cliff until it was like dying, it took to the skies and flew quite far away - I even lost track of its health bar, and some NPC must have finished it off with an arrow or something. It actually flew all the way back to me and literally drop dead on my feet...

So... maybe dragons are scripted to seek out the dragonborn when they die and land right infront of them =P

Was walking through the college courtyard and a dead horse fell right on J'zargo. Kept an eye on the sky after that.

I've actually had a dead dragon follow me around. It first appeared as I was walking near Fort Snowhawk. It just dropped on the ground next to me. I reloaded a save game and walked forward - and the same thing happened. This time I was watching, and in fact the thing just materialised in mid-air, about three feet off the ground, and flopped down. I cleared out the Fort, then fast-travelled to Solitude. As I appeared inside the gate, the same dead dragon flopped down on the execution stand. About four game days later I fast travelled back there, walked across the square near the shops and the same dragon corpse flopped into view yet again, this time near the market stall.

Last night was the first time a dragon has ever killed one of my quests. After an attack in Riverwood, I received a failed quest message (I was supposed to deliver a letter, and forgot all about it). The girl was barbequed alive. All's good, though. I got an inheritance from her.

With 51 open quests, and embarking on the one which now makes dragon appearances more common, I suspect more quests will fail unless I get busy with them.
