I just did the CW quest line And then travelved to Whiterun and noticed that Haadvar is following me around any help?

He's an imperial spy!

Unless you kill him I'm pretty sure its permenant.

I've had this same problem as well. Try saving your game. Exit game, and then restart. I did this and he finally put down his sword, looked around, and left. Hopefully this helps.

I'd try save and reload within the city of Whiterun, then exit the city. Hadvar should follow you out of the city, then run to his home in Riverwood.

I had the same bug. You need to squeeze up to him like you're trying to push him away. Then while you're both squeezed, save and exit. Once you load up again, he'll return to Riverwood.
