Hall of Vigilants after Dawnguard

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:12 pm

My character that completed Dawnguard is no fan of the Stendarr Vigilants and on occasion stopped by their hall and killed any who respawned. She sided with the dawnguard as a measure of a temperary truce if you will. Not for the Stendarr but because she equally dislikes vampires.. mainly vampires that try and destroy everything she fought so hard for to save. Like she told Paarthurnax, she likes the world as it is. She also didn't put a stop to the civil war to see those actions wasted either. So Death to the vampires.

But I took her past the hall today. I remember Isram talking about how it had been attacked and blah blah. Figured somewhere in there my attacks and vampire attacks got him confused as to who actually attacked the hall. Either way imagine my surprise to find it burned to the ground. I'd finished dawnguard at least 30+ in game days and the hall was on fire with bodies of vigilants and vampires strewn all over the place.

So my question is this.

Will the hall be rebuilt with the Dawnguard having won? Or will the place continually burn every time I walk by?

Kinda saddned... my character enjoyed resting inside the hall for the night when passing through that area. had a nice fire place. Guess the whole thing is a fireplace now.

One thing's for sure. There won't be a dlc involving demora lord and vigilants for Skyrim. Molag Bal has triumphed in Skyrim.

Dawnguard permanently nukes the hall. I have heard that if you go there before level 10 it will be as it is in vanilla Skyrim. I don't know if this is so from personal experience since I am usually level 10 by the time I leave Riverwood.

I could test that theory... maybe go there with a character that has not started a dawnguard quest.

But yeah like you I'm lv 10 or so before getting out of the Riverwood area :P

Apparently the Vigilants new base in at Stendarr's Beacon, just down from Ft. Dawguard. You could always attack them -there-. Not sure if they re-spawn.

I cleared that beacon a long time ago and it never respawned... will have to check it out. Though I'm sure living in a drafty old tower thats all open to cold is no fun.

I wouldn't expect it to be rebuilt. There's a spot in Oblivion that never gets rebuilt. I just don't think they would bother with it.

She was killed. The vigilant at Fort Dawnguard informs Isran of this when you first go there. I think her name was Carcette.

Stendarr's Beacon was always there, it hardly gained any extra importance once the Hall of the Vigilantes was destroyed.

I doubt the Hall would ever be rebuilt, it will just be another burnt ruin in Skyrim.

Serves them right for being hypocrites.

The hall is fine until you reach level 10 and don't start the Dawnguard mainquest.
