2 handed skill and one handed skill trees at the same time?

For role playin reasons I want to use both a one handed sword and a shield and 2 handed sword. Other than role playin reasons is there anything bad about this?
I used the perk calculator and all the perks I want take me to level 56 but I don't think that's too bad.

If you want to do it you should do it. I am thinking about doing it for role-play too. I won't be touching any magic or stealth trees so I have enough room for it.

I think the reason most people avoid this build is because it requires that you put perks into two different forms of melee combat that are viewed as alternatives to each other. Leveling two alternative forms of melee combat may lead to some challenge in mid levels for the same reason that leveling noncombat skills makes enemies level faster than you. However, you should be able to overcome that. There is certainly nothing wrong with it from a roleplaying perspective, and as long as you have enough perks for your build I say go for it.

It's going to be difficult to allocate enough points to both. Maybe if you picked one weapon type and just specialized with that. For example only swords, or only maces. That way you would only have to put perks into those areas which could save you a lot. It's still going to be hard because for 1h you're going to also want a few points in block and for either you're going to need perks in your relevant armor and possibly smithing unless you are willing to use gear with default stats which could make things more challenging. If you skip out on things like enchanting or alchemy it could free up some points as well. It's certainly possible but you're going to have to make some compromises somewhere.

no, there isn't anything wrong with it, at all.

and, you have MORE than enough perks to make a complete god-like character with wise perk choices.

just remember with the base x5 options: the first is 25% and the rest are only 5% and, therefore, are less valuable. as well, many of the perk choices DO NOT actually add true power to your character.

just remember that you do not have to take all the armor perks that seem like good choices because you can hit the max ac without them, depending, on your in-game choices.

If you plan to reach lv 81 at some point, you'll end up leveling both weapon types eventually.

To conserve perks, just stick with the armsman and barbarian perks, unless you decide that you really want to commit to one or the other.
