hardcoe Mode reward = Trophy/Achievment?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:53 am

Hope this isnt a re-post or anything, but search didnt find anything so figured I would start a new topic. Just wondering if anyone else has beat this on hardcoe yet for the PC vs XBox or PS3.

I just recently finished the game myself, have been playing on hardcoe - Very Hard, went through ending, credits blah blah, but didnt get a message saying "hey congrats!" or anything even close to that, just puts me back at the title screen. I am playing on PC so I didnt even get the *ding* for an achievment. Been searching through other forums and seems that the only "special reward" is the achievment, but that seems to be comming from only Xbox and PS3 players.

Nothing new on a new game, no new settings, no difference in weight, stats, traits, perks, nothing. Sorry if this is considered a "spoiler" but wasnt sure where else to put this, any response would be appreciated.

Side Note: Love the game, just might be irritating that there might not actually be a "special reward" after the work I put in on this game ;)

FNVs hardcoe mode isnt hard so why should you be getting any reward for completing it?

Didnt say it was hard, but "in-game" text actually says "special reward", and to be honest I'm happy with the preorder items I got, but the whole reason I even tried hardcoe out on first character was to get the "special reward". But to me it kinda seems like there isnt one for the PC, so I could have saved doing the hardcoe for my 2nd or 3rd play through. But anyways was really just wondering if anyone else has beaten the game on hardcoe.

I'd thought there was supposed to be an Achievement. Did you have them disabled somehow?

(And you didn't pop out of hardcoe between the time it let you pick it and the end? Don't think so, but just checking....)

There probably is an achievment, but I'm playing on PC, and as far as I can tell (other than "Steam Achievments") there isnt a way to get achievments on PC, never gave an option to sign into live or anything so would assume not (dont have a live account anyways, an Xbox hater). Know I was doing challenges throughout the game, but that's not for something like gamerscore. And yeah you're right I didnt pop out of hardcoe at all through the game...maybe me hitting the "~" key on accident messed it up for me lol, ah well, still plan on playing this alot more anyways :)

Seems odd to mention a special reward if all you get is an achievement.

That's your problem. If you aren't signed into Live, you won't get any achievements (except the Steam ones, obviously). The bad news is that even if you choose to sign up for Live now, you won't be able to use your old save game. I had a similar thing happen to me with Fallout 3. I'm not an xbox hater, but I do hate Live for Windows. It's pure [censored].

"Steam Achievements" are Achievements. Nobody's saying "Live Achievements."

Yeah, Steam's the achievement system it's using. It's not a G4WL game.

Simply opening the console isn't enough to disable achievements. If you actually enter in a console command (say, using TCL to escape from terrain that had you trapped) will though.

Do you mean the hardcoe achieve, or all achievements from that point on with that character, ever? (If so, that's annoying.... I had to tcl out of a blockage last night.)
