Hardest Quest you have done so far?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:03 am

Then, J'rahzir has agreed to such a challenge. He shall return shortly. *three game days later, J'rahzir returns, smoldering* So... J'rahzir found graqes. He shall avoid graqes from now on and find a fine strawberry for the Bosmer. Later... *coughs smoke*

Serethil is sorry that J'rhazir's fur has been a bit singed. This Bosmer will certainly be happy to taste a "strawberry" when J'rhazir procures same. J'rhazir may look for Serethil near Darkwater Pass.... she has a nice home where the view of the waterfall is spectacular.

Hrm... Suddenly the burns upon J'rahzir feel moot. Khajiit finds the Nord lands to be cold, but... J'rahzir feels much warmth within your presence. The Bosmer seems to be a most generous host and for this, Khajiit is grateful.

This Bosmer is very grateful to have a Khajiit of such renown spending a bit of time in her home. A Magnificent Bastard is not to be denigrated after all! Perhaps the Falmer in Darkwater Pass may rethink their sometime incursions now that Serethil has such a home-friend!

[And.... I do hope no one is unduly upset at this bit of roleplay.... It did start out as slanted toward the thread premise after all...]

((I do it all the time, nobody got on my case yet. Well... not anyone who has power.))

Ah, now the Bosmer spoils the Khajiit. J'rahzir feels that if this Bosmer were any other Mer, then it would be a trap. Though, J'rahzir must ask about more different reagents. He finds himself stumbling in this Nord land often. Perhaps the Bosmer will tell J'rahzir, yes?

Wolf Queen Awakened, as many have said.

The Siege on the Dragon Cult is pretty rough as well. With PISE I must have faced at least 20-25 Deathlords in that dungeon. I had Marcurio (w/ Sanguine Rose), a Volkihar Master Vampire, and an Arch Necromancer and we were getting our asses beat. On the plus side, I managed to use a bunch of those Scrolls of Guardian Circle and Bane of the Undead.

This Bosmer is not very accomplished with alchemy herself. However, being an adventurous sort, Serethil has a reasonable acquaintance with many reagents, where they may be found, yes. And she would be very happy to help such a home-friend find things that may be hidden to those not out in this cold land at times.

I'll third the 2nd Potema quest.

I had to use like 25 health potions for the boss portion of that quest (thanks mostly to the fact that Potema's lightning kept draining all my magicka so I couldn't use heal spells). And I got disarmed like 5 times or more, having to restart the battle twice because I couldn't find my disarmed weapon. Actually, I lost my weapon in my final attempt as well, but I'd gotten so annoyed by the battle that I just said "Forget it, I'll live without it" and went on. Thankfully it was just some generic weapon and not anything special.

I can't imagine doing that quest as a mage. It was bad enough being without magicka for healing on my melee character, but not being able to attack at all due to constant magicka drain would be downright deadly.
You can still get out of the room where Potema resides, and let your magicka bar refill. I did that to lure her underlings out (I use restoration, so despite being a melee character I still needed a filled-up bar), so they'd be out of the way when butchering Potema. Still a hard fight, but at least you don't have to deal with her lightning attacks all the time.

I have a small regret that I played at too easy a level for some of these, but by nature, I am not a gamer, and all the fast twitch and game knowledge is not in my DNA. So for me, i thought that Arcano was the toughest for me. It was the timing issue and getting to hit the SOB..... I tried for twenty minutes. Then figured it out. I simply used Sanguine Rose.... Lights out Arcano....

Skuldafn was pretty decent as well.

Can't really say I've had a hard quest, just moments in quests which were difficult at first because I didn't pace myself or use sense. Like during the MQ when you go to Skuldafen, the 2 dragons greeting me+various draugr overwhelmed me. I couldn't fathom how I was supposed to beat that combination, when I could barely (at the time) beat one dragon. I got around it though by learning to draw enemies out bit by bit and goad some while others ignored me.

The dragon priest near the portal to Sovngarde was my first encounter with those draugr type as well and yeah, that svcked until I realized I had to go for full offensive power and just relentlessly slash away to win.

I actually found Skuldafn rather simple, but I also completed the MQ rather late.

I may want to ask for an advice tho. When you kill a priest-mask boss, then what do you mean by "slashing away"? I'm an archer, so the only way I can beat one of them, is to find shelter and then fire away. Those lighting bolts etc. are just TOO damn hurtful, aren't they?

Like any enemy you use your strongest skill against them. Archery can be tough against DPs because they tend to move quickly and can change directions on a dime. Most of my characters have ended up being strong archers so the ability to summon an atronauch has been essential for me. The DP goes after the atronauch while you take shots from a distance.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf... or whatever the second quest is you do for Solitude. Draugr of all levels everywhere plus Potima the shocking ghost. If you do it with a follower it's not so bad but doing it solo is hairy.

Skuldafen deserves honorable mention but as already stated, if you know how to draw out the enemy one by one or even in pairs, it makes the thing a lot easier. The ending to that quest before Sovengarde was tough too, until I realized that one decent invisibility potion solved all problems. You can't do that with the 'Wolf quest. You have to fight the horde and then Potima.

Whoa. I'm doing this one now and my gut aches the closer I get...
