Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:25 pm

It was amazing, wasn't it? :D I saw it 3 days ago at midnight and I still can't think about anything else... I'm going to buy every collectors box that is coming out :P

But I fear I'm going into a Post-Harry-Potter-depression since now there won't be anything new to be released

Ditto. One word: Scorpius. Seriously? [censored] Scorpius? Only sheer willpower kept me from spitting Sunkist all over the page.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Dumbledore. Dumbledore? Dude, just...ugh. That epilogue felt like a bad fanfiction.

Haha that's exactly how I felt! It was almost as if she completely forgot about the deadline and had to fart out an epilogue as quick as possible before she sent it off or something. svcks because the I thought everything else was great, just really wish someone had just edited out that part.

Well it certainly wasn't the best movie so far but it wasn't bad. Certainly not as bad as HBP.

HBP was not bad, I think it really introduced the mood and what lay ahead further than the Goblet of Fire. As for the epilogue though I liked it it wast too bad. Was kind of emotional.

I'm sure I've ranted about HBP before but the problem, as a book-first fan, I have is that of all the movies, it follows its book the least. I know Rowling has last say in the end, but I felt she let that one deviate to far from the book.

the Weasley house is burned in the movie. I felt they were just adding anyhting for dramatic effect, regardless of what it was.

My girl and I went and saw the double feature (part one and two) last night for the midnight release. It was a good movie, but I was very, very disappointed really. It just didn't live up to all the hype.

Who else thinks the series would have been amazing had

Spoiler
Harry had just died? Sad emotions often lead to a better story in my perspective, as opposed to corny expected ones. Oh well

The epilogue movie version was done well. I had just wished Rowling had written it better.

It's a satisfying end to the series.
Spoiler
Seeing Hogwarts practically in ruins, characters you've known for years defending it, some dying, and just the general feel of the film was pretty emotional.

Heh, I was like that for a while after the last book was released.

I'm going to see it in a few hours, can't wait! I've had my tickets booked since last week.

Just saw it today, it was a very great movie and well done. People might bash me for this, but I never read the books and I don't plan to. I loved the direction the movie went and I think it had an amazing ending, without the epilogue. It wasn't needed, but it was nice to have.

I just watched it... concluding a decade of Harry Potter mania during which I read all the books and subsequently watched the movies. It was good, although it being the second half of one movie really showed, in my opinion. I would have rather had them release it as one film... but you know... much money can be made by the stunt they pulled.

The first two were way too by-the-book, and when translated to screen they came across as somewhat boring. For book-to-movies to be successful, they need to take levels of artistic freedom not present in written stories sometimes. The burning down of the Weasley's house was important to keep the audience engaged. They toned down the climix, so they really had to do whatever they could to keep the movie from just being boring. I'm pretty sure it was the least eventful of all the books as far as overall plot goes. I could really care less about Harry's lengthy investigation of who the Half-Blood Prince is, just get to the Horcrux finding and Dubledore slaying, please.

Why is everyone so angry about Scorpius? His father is called Draco... I think it's a really fitting name.
