The game will not be released for the Mac basically because of DirectX as the game would need to be recoded for whatever graphics system is used on the IOS.

Bootcamp is the only way your going to get this running on your Mac.

I didn't bother with my ultra high-end HD6490M and integrated Intel HD graphics 3000.

I did, on an MBP, early 2011, running off a Geforce 6750M, Win7 64 bit. I used MSI Afterburner to give the card a moderate overclock (950/750) and it runs like a charm at 1920 x 1080 (hooked up to TV set and sound system via HDMI). I might not be getting 60 fps on ultra, but I get very playable frame rates even with everything maxed except Shadows, which I set to high (stock settings, no pushing things further via ini except for tree shadows). Very good results on High, but I like my distant trees. However, do NOT use a Mac magic mouse or trackpad - these do not play nice with games due to the multi-finger gestures. Ditto the stock touchpad - get yourself a PC mouse.

EDIT: Also, 8 gigs of RAM and now running with the Skyrim accelerator mod that's been making the rounds while I wait for 1.4 and beyond to eventually optimize the code.
