Has anyone else lost saved games?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 5:18 am

No issues at all until this past weekend when I started up Skyrim and noticed that the last couple hours of saved games had vanished. Has this happened to anyone else? Really annoying having to replay the same quests just to catch up to where I should have been.

(Sorry for the multiple threads, just realized I should have posted here in the first place)

Turn off all auto save functions in the ini files. Don't use auto saves. Or quick saves / loads. And make a separate save file for each manual save (don't overwrite). Don't know if all that's necessary, but that's what I do, and I've never had a problem.

This happened to me in the first couple of weeks. I wasn't able to figure out what specifically caused it or replicate it (yet).

Autosave was turned off (and it mysteriously turned itself on a day or two ago, still trying to track that down).

Hmmm, I wonder if there's a save limit (at least in terms of what you can see) if deleting files brought back the other games. Weird, I've never seen it happen in any other game or in the past month playing Skyrim. Guess I'll write it off as a fluke and cross my fingers that it doesn't happen again.

I've haven't lost saves but at the minute when I manually save the game and overwrite the last save (normally save 5 saves and keep saving over them) it doesn't overwrite just saves and keeps the old save that's what I'm experiencing.
