Has anyone gotten into the dawnguard beta for xbox today?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:36 pm

Unless they require you to turn off people being able to look at your profile which won't allow them to view achievements. I forget, you can do that on XBL right?
You can appear offline, but new achievments will still update anyway if you're actually connected to XBL. But after we download I guess we could just play offline until the 26th
. That would svck though

Just thought of this: Wouldn't they *people on ur friend's list* know you got into the beta when they see you get brand new achievements in Skyrim that were not there before by checking our achievements/gamerscore??
I'm sure that they'll be called "Secret Achievement" until it's released for everyone.

I hope I get in, I accidently deleted the two high level accounts that I told Bethesda about when I was signing up, so now I'm working overtime to beef up my level 34 nord (31 when I told them about him). I just hope that doesn't destroy my chances of getting into the beta...

true or we could stay offline but that would stink
That's a good point. I wonder if they thought about this.
*nods*
Well, yeah but im going to assume (based on how my friends reacted to the beta) that most of them have a "they wont pick me so just whatever f**k it" mentality, and but i just wouldnt rub it in anyone's face that didnt get the beta and signed up and has been a forum member for a while, just my opinion though
I wasnt talking about showing them I was saying wouldnt it be breach of contract if they see we got some new achivements out of no where that they don't have.

Ya but even than if the game say has 60 achievements than all of a sudden gets 15 more secret or otherwise it kinda says something is up right?

Kinda worried about this as well I told them about my characters but dont really know how long I have played with them *hour question* and even than they got deleted due to a harddrive corruption issue so kinda worried :(

I don't think they particularly care about people knowing that you are part of the beta. They are just strict about you releasing sensitive information and details about the DLC before June 26th.

It's not like that information is actually important. They just want to know how much you actually play Skyrim.

It's not like you can tell a whole lot about the plot or the plot twists from the name of an achievement. We all saw how the editors of GameInformer were watched like hawks during their playthrough of the Skyrim disc in their review last year. They unlocked achievements, but the details of the MQ & SQ's were still unknown.

I don't really think Bethesda is too worried about the names of the Achievements.

But in order to play in the Beta, if I have to set my account to "Appear as Offline", then that's exactly what I'll do.

If I get picked, I wouldn't do anything even remotely close to violating the NDA I signed. It would be like a religious text to me. ;)

It can be the full version with achievements turned off and later patched in

That would be dumb.

If they lock out the achievements, then it's not the full version, is it.

Exactly. And I don't think they can do it anyway.

This is what I think is the more realistic approach. With achievements, it's going to be hard to deny you have the beta.

Besides, now that I think of it, wouldn't it be better if people did share they WERE part of the beta?

For example, I have the beta and user #1234 has the beta. I'd be more constructive if me and #1234 got together and went, "Hey this happened when I did this. Can you confirm this happened as well?". It just seems that would help the beta along.

There's trolls all over youtube saying they got in. Yet no beta gameplay, so they're all trolls.
You're not allowed to post gameplay anyway, well, without being sued that is.

They won't post in these threads for a couple of weeks. they'll just disappear from the Forums like a fart in the wind.

I have also been making a skyrim inspired city in minecraft lately (well, not skyrim specifically, I originally wanted to make a viking city, but then said, 'What the hell, the nords are based on the vikings, So I'll base it on the nords of skyrim.") Its almost done too, If anyone want's to see it my GT is ONE OF HAM.

I'm pretty sure they could disable achievements if they wanted to.

Who is to say the board they could make for us won't be locked to the public even to read till release of the game?

Ya or do it like with XLA trail versions like in Minecraft before I bought it it kept saying I got achivements yet it was only after i purchased it did I really get to see them.
