Has the beta patch gone wide-release?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 11:02 pm

I'm wondering if the Skyrim beta patch (the 1.6 one) has been pushed out to everyone? I just saw Steam give me a pop-up that said something along the lines of "Skyrim has finished updating." And now my SKSe will no longer start Skyrim saying the Skyrim is a newer version.

Has the beta patch went live, or has something else gone wonky on me?

Oh no, no no! I think it HAS! How can I roll back to the previous version? I was wanting to wait until all of the mods I'm running get updated to support the new patch before upgrading.

I DO have a back-up of my entire skyrim folder from about a week ago. Which files can I copy back over to do a roll-back? And how can I keep Steam from changing it back once I do?

Are all mods incompatible with this update or something? I only have simple gameplay tweaks and UNP armor replacers. No animation mods or anything...

Depends on the mod, I should think. SKSE needs to be updated, for sure (there is an SKSE for the beta, not sure if the beta changed between it and the wide-release). Also, some mods that have lots of scripting might not work. Armor and animations should still work, unless Bethesda changed any of them.

The latest SKSE made for the beta patch works with today's live patch. I just tried it.

It's still listed as a beta here, I guess it takes a little while before it gets here too.

Edit: And then I reloaded Steam, and now the beta option is gone. Nevermind.

The official final patch notes will probably be posted soon. On Steam, I mean. They're probably the same as the 360 ones on the Beth Blog.

WTF - there's no official announcement about this on ANY of the sites listed under http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1148929-where-to-find-news-on-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/

Is this another case of premature e-patch-ulation?

Me, I'm staying steam-offline until (at least) Script Dragon is updated for the 'official' release of the patch.
