Has there been an update since friday?

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 4:44 pm

So the last time I played was on friday. I installed some mods and played for hours without a hitch. Today, when I try to start Skyrim it crashes at the launcher. I get a message that says "Skyrim launcher has stopped working". Literally nothing has changed with my computer or Skyrim since Friday and it puzzles me as to why this problem would come out of now where. Was there an update in the last couple of days that may not be vibing with a mod or something?

The Steam Workshop exploded, and took every subscriber down with it.

Try to remove all the mods that you've installed through Steam Workshop.

Or launch the game trough another launcher (Like SKSE).

Now I'm glad I decided to stick with the Nexus.

So I was going to try and unsubscribe to the mods I am using but I don't know how to find them. I mean, I don't remember the exact name of every mod I added and where it is listed. Is there a feature in the workshop that shows me the mods I am subscribed to so that I can unsubscribe?

yet ANOTHER failing of the steam workshop. There is a search function now, at least. Try searching for the name of the plugin there. I'm just amazed at how many people who weren't in the modding community before are releasing mods there. And most of them are poorly hacked together or just ripped from other games. THIS is what you get when you put modding resources in everyone's faces.

A bit of a overreaction, but yes, as of now it's a unstable system.

To see your subscribed mods you need to (Sorry for any wrong name, I'm translating from Portuguese to English) click on Community, then Workshop, then "Your Workshop Files" (That is besides your avatar face, on top of the "Join the Workshop Community Group" button) then you click on "Subscribed Items" and that's it.

That worked. It seems the problem occurs when the launcher starts to check the mods to see if they are up to date. Workshop still has some kinks to work out.

The way to do it (hard to find):
Edit: "it" being unsubscribe from mods if you can't find them

In the steam window, click 'Browse the Workshop'

Then click on 'Your Workshop Files'

Then click on 'Subscribed Items'

Step 1: Open workshop
Step 2: Click "Your Workshop Files" button
Step 3: Click "Subscribed Items" button

Yeah, they do need to add this feature. It's kind of important when it comes to managing your mods.

Aha! so that's how it's done. I was thinking that it would be a bit silly for them not to give you a way to bring up all the mods you subscribed to.
