I hate the horses in this game!

I fast travel to a military camp to feed as my vamp has become stage 4.

I fast travel while in sneak so I do not raise alarm so I can dual cast invisibility and find me a sleeping target. Easy, no? Yes because damned Shadowmere charges off into the camp yelling "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROY JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENKINS!"

I don't understand. They aggro all by themselves when you're on foot and they're nearby. It's ridiculous.

No, I mean like, Fast travel to a nearby location, dismount, and then do your buisness. Or don't aquire the horse in the first place

This is yet another AI issue that has been frowned upon since Oblivion. The horse should either just stand there or run away...a little.

How many Cowboy and Indian *looks at avi* movies have you seen the horses start pawing at anything that moved or charged in ahead of the actors? They should defend themselves, yes...but should not aggro unless provoked.

I just FT to a nearby location and go in on foot. Then again, if you have a horse...why FT in the first place?

Yeah. Shadowmere is the horse of the devil himself. He doesn't give a [Censored] about anything. He's just THAT cool

But all horses in the game do it. It's daft. Horses should not go on the offensive. It's not even good from a gameplay perspective because aside from the OP's situation they just get in the way and/or get themselves killed. The most they should do is stand their ground and defend themselves. And that's only so the player doesn't lose them ias they might if they automatically fled combat. Horses standing their ground but not attacking would be the most sensible way to handle them and it's weird how Bethesda thought it was a good idea to make them aggressive.

A majority of the time my horses always ran away from skeevers and wolves. But suddenly they think they can handle a dragon...

I've only bought a horse maybe two times. Kind of a waste of money when they charge in and die the first fight you get in. Mounted combat is no better, they still die way to easy. Horses should only defend when attacked directly.

This is where it's just a dirty shame that horse armor gained so much infamy that it will never be implemented into the series ever again, because if implemented properly, it would definitely help keep your horse from dying so darn much.
