I HATE This Game!... REALLY Hate It...

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 12:53 am

Now I bet you are thinking "Go play COD or GOOD RIDDANCE or something like that... but the problem I have with this game is... I AM TOO DAMNED ADDICTED TO THIS GAME.

I played all through the damned night again last night. I kept going "Just finish this one more mission" and that lead to something getting revealed so I had to play another mission and this happened again and again. Forget Internet Addiction. Forget Crack Cocaine. Forget Heroine (unless you are playing a girl heh). This is Skyrim Addiction.

Since I got past that one quest glitch that stopped me advancing I have been doing loads of quests with no problems at all. Seems 1.3 is actually pretty good. Still get times when the framerate drops to 1 frame per 3 seconds (yeah, that happened when I had two companions at the time... totally killed the game until I rebooted the 360). I still believe it is a memory leak.

But even with the odd glitch and framerate issues I'm having loads of fun. Whoever said that this game got boring obviously isn't an RPG'er. Some of the missions are a bit boring I must admit but they are few and far between (the thieves guild numbers missions are stupidly easy).

Looking forward to the DLC. Loved the DLC in Fallout 3 and NV. Hopefully the DLC for Skyrim will be just as good... maybe even better.

Yeah, its very, very addictive. Even the chronic whingers on this forum who seem to really, genuinely hate the game have clocked up several hundred hours of play, lol.

Someone who complains constantly about everything. It might be local slang.

I whinged when a major quest broke and it meant I couldn't progress and my planned character development couldn't go any further without a restart. Luckily someone on the site pointed out how to possibly fix it and I found that all I had to do to repair the busted quest was to... KILL ONE ICE WISP! Yup... I forgot to do that one early quest (because I kept getting side tracked) and it totally screwed up a later mission. You can't believe how happy I was when I found that I didn't have to start over.

Downside though... MORE ADDICTIVE GAMEPLAY.

I HATE THIS GAME! LOL

According to my stats I have spent over a year in Skyrim gametime... and I still find myself watching the sunrise ingame but can never find the sun. Did they leave it out on consoles?

Whinge and whine are two different words. But I don't think you use whinge in American English.
Whine is more shrill like a little kid, whinge is flatter like a grumpy old man.

I know what you mean, OP. I haven't been addicted like this to a game since Morrowind. I was pretty addicted to Oblivion, but not this bad. The only game series that has ever even come close to TES addiction is the Civilization series for me, particularly Civ 4. Still, I am hundreds of hours in and continually blown away by Skyrim. Can't wait to see what Beth does with expansions. I hope they are big Shivering Isles type ones.

Glad you're enjoying the game. Don't forget that you need food and water.

No. Whinge is a perfectly good British English word, it actually means more or less the same as 'whine', but has a different derivation.

How exactly to you pronounce whinge. Do you pronounce it whinge or do you say whinge?

Pronounced winj. A chronic whinger moaned about Morrowind and Oblivion too. If you only moan about Skyrim, I would call that acute whingeing. Though I must say it would be terribly unfair to accuse someone with genuine grievances or disappointment a whinger at all.
