I have an Elder Scroll..what do I do with it?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:00 am

so i did the Septimus quest line trasncribing the lexicon, I got an Elder Scroll at the during the process. I get back to him and he mentions nothing about it being in my possession. he dies and I get that book. and I'm still left with the Elder Scroll in my inventory......

did I miss something? is there a quest where this is going to be needed?(that I haven't gotten yet)
I can't store it as it is a quest item.

help??

BTW--how hilarious the effect when you try and read it...lol!!
"it's just too much for your mortal mind to comprehend, dude!!"

He needed the transcribed lexicon, but wasn't interested in the elder scroll itself. There is a later quest where you'll need this.

Edit: I get ya now. Just keep the Elder Scroll. It's for use in a later quest.

Stuck with the same problem with another item. Finn's Lute. I finished the quest. She says "Oh thank you for finding the Lute. I never thought anyone would be able to find it." She won't take the Lute. I can't store it. It now weighs 4 lbs. I can't store it anywhere because it's a quest item. Did I miss something?

I think we discovered a couple of bugs.

Most quest items don't weight anything when they're in your inventory. A weight will be listed for the item, but if you check your inventory before and after picking it up your carried weight won't change.

i tried reading it over and over to unlock an easter sadly i just went blind.

certain items like finn's flute never leave your item even after finishing the quest due to bad programming.

Well, if you're on PC you can get rid of them. On console, nope, unfortunately. Unless and until they do a patch....

You can get rid of it, provided you use it for what you were told to use it for...

The whole reason you go to Septimus' outpost...

After you have completed the task needed for it, take it to the College and talk to the library Orc. (Go figure right?)
