There is a issue on the PC version of Fallout 3 with it constantly Freezing, sometimes its playable for hours, sometimes it will freeze every 5 minutes. Have these issues been fixed in New Vegas?

Sounds like a hardware issue. I have played Fallout 3 all 2 years I have had it without it freezing so much as once on my PC. Not once at all, I'm not even kidding. (Millions of mod caused crashes dont count :P) You probably just have a hardware incompatability or something. If they fixed it specifically, we will find out in 2 hours wont we?

This is regarding the 360 version, but it's likely quite a few PCs will have similar issues:

"It's a technical embarrassment. Three times the game locked up on me completely, forcing me to restart the 360. Entering the outside world is more often than not accompanied by 20 seconds or so of the framerate slowing to an absolute slide show. Load times regularly hover between 25 and 50 seconds, in spite of a full hard drive installation."

So to answer your question.. it's probably going to be a buggy, crashy mess just like Fallout 3. If the devs can't nail the 360 version which has consistent hardware, I doubt they are going to have better luck with PC compatibility.

Well i have a PC not xbox360 but unless the game just doesnt run on Windows 7 at all then i dont know what kind of hardware problem it could be, i have a good Video card, 8 gigs of ram with Windows 7 ultra 64bit. For some reason people say that they dont have problems with it freezing constantly but there are a lot of other people that say they do. All my friends have this problem, i have read threads about it on Steam and some other places. Honestly im going to be pretty damn upset if New Vegas does the same thing there is no reason for it.

See my thread regarding the fix for FO3, and probably NV.

Do you still see this in the latest, fully patched up version? I ask because I had that problem for awhile but it eventually disappeared. Someone else specifically mentioned patch 1.7 finally getting rid of it for them.

As for NV, nobody has actually played it yet from what I can tell. Steam doesn't unlock for a few more hours and none of the reviews I've seen have mentioned playing on any version other then the 360 one.

Yes i do have 1.7 and it is just as bad. Im actually wondering if the game can run on WIndows 7 64 Bit because its starting to make me think its not ment to be run on windows 7 either 64 or 32.

Again, see my thread:

I have Windows 7 64-bit, and have tested this fix with a variety of nvidia cards...

Fallout 3 was apparently never officially registered as being Windows 7 compatible, though a lot of people have had no issues running it on that OS. New Vegas does officially support Windows 7, though.
