[Conjuration] I have a question about bound weapons

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:40 pm

I'm making a new character that's going to be conjuration heavy with 2h perks. I love the 2h perk that allows you to damage multiple enemies in front of me, but I forsee a problem.

With "Oblivion Binding" perk, one swing from a bound battleaxe will banish summoned creatures. I'm going to be heavily relying on summoned minions with this build, so when I have my two Dremora Lords out fighting, won't I regularly be banishing them with the "Sweep" perk on the 2h tree?? (damage up to 4 enemies in front of me with sideways power attacks)

And while I'm on the topic, how much Stamina does a 2h bound battleaxe wielding Necromancer need??

Your question really answers itself. Yes, you will be offing your summons. A 2 handed bound weapon user would be better served with a ranged summon, like a storm or fire Antioch.

I don't think Sweep is an issue because the perk applies to "targets", which should not include followers or summons. There is no mention of any issues with it on the UESP discussion page for Two-Handed either, which I think there would be if it was a problem:

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I hope someone can confirm this for me before I raise my 2h too high for no reason.
