Do I have reason to fret?

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 3:44 pm

I'm starting to get a little scared. It doesn't look like Obsidian will make a DLC with the BoS in it, or any factions for that matter. Am I just worrying or do I have due cause for this fear? I was reading that the next DLCs will probably be about the burning man or going with the guy from the Crimson Caravan to start up in New Canaan. What do you guys think?

They can't really make a DLC for any of the main factions because you have the option to go against all of them so a lot of people would have to start over.

Honestly. After Fallout 3, the BoS and Aliens need to be laid off for a while. Lets explore some new/less explored factions first, shall we?

I honestly don't care for a DLC that focuses on one faction.
I'd rather have each DLC bring in 14 sidequests to factions in the main game rather than have a small sub-story set outside the map that is in no real relation to the actual "game".

I like exploring new locations though, it's more logical than a DLC that makes some giant tower or big military depot on the map no one seems to have noticed before it.

The Brotherhood aren't very big players in New Vegas. They have their own issues back home. A good DLC imo is one that carefully integrates itself into the game... not alienating itself nor invading it all together... I wonder how this would be encountered.

I don't want new locations on the map like that.
I want new NPC's and quests in already existing places.

But that would be a none to well recieved DLC, I mean, a well done quest is loved by immersioners like myself and maybe you (Im not sure if your crazy about games that svck you in) but in terms of sales and the mainstream market. DLC is commonly expected to be a toy chest with overpowered weapons, I can bet thats what DM will be like.

Yup.
And I'm sure I'll hate it while I love it.
Like with all of FO3's DLC's.

I just think that if they are to release more content for the game then they should actually build up on the "game" and not give us a sub-game which 80% of FO3's DLC's were.
(The DLC's don't have to be increasing level cap or continue past ending, just bring more content to the actual "game")

I agree completely. I believe increasing the level cap is a ridiculous move. They are caving in to pressure, and soon, they'll renig on their claim and make BS style DLC, causing a split amongst the F:NV fans. I can almost feel it. :sadvaultboy:

They do have that whole area on the west side of the map that is blocked off by mountains that they could use for DLC

but I think that after Dead Money they will do the flight simulation at Nellis and then go to the Great Divide (which sounds like the Grand Canyon) and have Burning Man in it. (This DLC might continue the story with the way it is set up). Then two "extra" DLCs

No matter what they said about not continuing, Beth planned the same thing but with the amount of uproar they changed it.

I really want to have all DLC's for the sake of lore but that will be the second DLC that I refuse to buy. (First being Horse Armor)
And if they raise cap to 40 then I'll rage like a baby here on the forum to try and convince them to make it optional.(Why should we who want the DLC for other reason be forced to unbalance?)

How could they do a flight simulator DLC? That would include flying airplanes, and that wouldn't work due to the game engine.

I don't know, but they made it so you interact with them, so if not a flight sim, then just another VR thing like Anchorage.

The VR Chairs in the Hidden Valley bunker can not be interacted with, so why would they make the Nellis ones interactable?

In a way I think it could be possible.

Make you 'fly' using the system bloatflies and Cazadors do.
Like how Op Anch strips and gives you in sim gear, the game gives you an unremovable quest item that gives you an airplane skin. (Item is removed via an extensively tested script to make sure it does not fail to remove it.)
Various clouds with invisible walls on the ground so you can 'fly' with a low resolution city background texture below.

i hope to god aliens dont come back...now predators another story XD

anyways, i personally think they should make a sort of mini-expansion DLC, that could extend and add missions/new quests to each major faction, and maybe even a here-and-there quest with small groups. make everyone happy you know? and if you make a new character with another faction, you can explore a bit more there as well :o

I wouldn't mind a DLC where aliens are in tanks that can't be accessed and are just decoration (Area 51 is what I am thinking of)

But an expansion DLC would work if they could add quests that vary from the different outcomes in the game

I want a DLC that lets us go to all of the areas of the map that are walled off

I'm pretty sure that the new DLC doesn't have much to do with anything in the game. It's random, and I think I will probably HATE IT as much as I hated Mothership Zeta
