I have a request, please read it Bethesda.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:49 am

Hello, this is a request, as long as you are doing features and fixes in the game it seems like you are trying to improve it, the fact is that you should listen to what we have to say, because the game is played by us, not by you, you have to satisfied us doing that patches but you aren't doing anything we are WRITING you to add!! If the game is for us, please at least listen to what we are hoping for you to improve. This is my request, hope you can at least read it:

-Please, can you put more options in the display? There is one that if you don't like the crosshair you can disable it, and there is another where you can turn invisible the HUD. Well, my request is another option where you can turn on/off the health, magicka and stamina bars. And another to turn on/off the above bar that shows the locations.
In my opinion, I dislike the design of the health, magicka and stamina bars, but the only way I can turn it off is by turning invisible all the HUD, that disables the crosshair, the "search" button, everything. So, please beth, make more options in the next patch, that can't be too difficult to add and will be of great profit.

-The last is that you improve the difficulty settings. Don't just manage it with a combat multiplier, be more realistic please. I can suggest that the difficulty affect the rewards of the loot, the health of the enemies, the damage they do and the resistance they have (BUT NOT with a combat multiplier please). For the last, I wish you could add the difficulty penalty to the follower too. I am playing on master difficulty and I feel like a weakling, even my partner is leading me to battle. Please improve this.

Hope you can answer me if you can do this or not. Thanks in advance and good luck. GREAT GAME.

because the game is played by us, not by you.

I do get what you are saying, and the fact Bethesda is doing great so far but what you said in the above quote was rather ignorant. I would be offended if I was a dev and saw that line.

Unless I don't use a follower I could have sworn s/he still gets hit as hard as me if not harder? Or maybe I just don't undersatnd what you're saying.

We asked for Horse Combat and Crossbows, we'll be getting them soon. Don't act like their not listening just because what you want hasn't been added.

The difficulty settings have a basic combat multiplier that is the only part affected with gameplay. In master difficulty, you do 0.5* damage and take 2* damage from enemies. But that isn't applied to your follower, so in master you are like a rat even compared to your partner. I do like the master difficulty, it is just unrealistic that your partner is not applied with that penalty.

I RETREAT what I said above, "because the game is played by us, not by you", you are right, that is not true.

I clarify, my intention is not to offend you nor bethesda. This is the greates RPG game I ever played :) that is why I want it perfect, sorry if I sound rude above.

To your first request, it's possible. To your second request, I'm pretty sure followers take the same amount of damage.

Edit: I apologize, I saw a problem with difficulty settings and assumed.

From my brief time reading posts on this forum, I haven't seen any evidence that most players find the game too easy on master level or are particularly interested in "hard core" functionality.

However, some are and if Bethesda can give them something that meets their needs and can be an option or options for them, that's fine by me.

Just so long as it doesn't significantly cut into design time for things that most players might want and see as a greater priority than "hard core" options.

Ummm I totally thought followers didn't level with you so at a certain point they will be one hit by draugr, bandits etc.

It's the same as magic, the lower your level the better it is.

The amount of ignorance and entitlement in the OP's post is mind staggering.

Please Bethesda, if you read this don't take it to heart. This one is misguided.

Dear Daledec's Mom,

Please teach him the basics of a consumer based economy. Bethesda doesn't have to listen to anyone's ideas or requests if they don't want to. They provide a product in exchange for money. If he doesn't like the products they produce tell him not to buy them. Explain to him about how before the internet people learnt to make due with what they were given rather then running to the internet and complaining about something and make demands like a five year old throwing a hissy fit. I'm not going to tell you how to raise your child but sounds like he would benefit by being bent over your knee every once in a while. Lastly, explain to him that, although his opinion is important to him and maybe his mother, the rest of world doesn't care about it.

Kind Regards.

Well, let's be fair - this is a forum. It's built on opinions.

But I agree with most else of what you're saying.

To say one doesn't care about his ideas is you assuming your thoughts fit everyone else. For all you know there are people that would like the Crosshair option to override the hud opacity. Just because he communicated it poorly doesn't mean it's irrelevant.

So just up until a moment ago I was on your side... sorta.

Personally I would like the whole HUD/compass changed to where everything is on the bottom. It really bugs me when I am looking for a dragon in the sky or I am trying to look around a cave and I have that compass blocking my view. Also get rid of that big eyeball in the middle of the screen that tells me someone notices me while sneaking. That could have been put in the bottom corner.

I wasn't suggesting people shouldn't express their opinions and ideas, I think its great that they do in forums like this. Its just people need to realize that thier opinion is their opinion. Just because they think a certain way doesn't mean everyone else should, never mind making changes to a video game based on it. I express my opinions on here all the time for the purpose of sharing and debating, not to make demands that others should think the same way I do or that Bethesda should be listening to me.

Edit: I apoligize if my original post came off harsh, just sick of these, "Please Bethesda, do what I think should be done cause I know everything" posts. Post your opinions and ideas for the forum to comment on and debate, not to Bethesda.

Aye. The point is not that the OPs opinion is wrong, but the way it was put. And he hasn't helped himself since...

Exactly, if he would have posted, here is my idea, what do others think, i would have been fine with it. To post to bethesda saying here is what I think and you need to change it is pretty egotistical and immature.

/me laughs at the myriad of replies this thread will get but doesn't really deserve.

its another request for UI improvements...

i'd rather the HUD allowed the elements to be drag'n'dropped to where you want them.

a simple menu with a 'floating' toolbar you can select elements from, then drop them where/if you want on the screen. But that is not going to happen, because Beth is clearly not prioritizing UI improvements unless you are a kinect owner, right?

Yeah, it's funny how a simple request for a better options menu with some additional options for the HUD and difficulty sliders is getting everyone all worked up. I like your drag and drop idea. I'd find the compass much less annoying if it were in the corner of the screen instead of the middle. A toggle for compass, compass icons, enemy red dots and sneak crosshair would be great too.

Most of the comments are him being made fun of for how he worded it.. not thoughts on how to improve it.. lol.
