Do I have to be a werewolf?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 6:03 pm

I played through the Companions quest line very early on. At that time I was excited about becoming a werewolf and accepted the invitation from the circle without hesitation.

Since that time, I've done every major quest line except for the Dark Brotherhood (plan to do that next). And on my second play through for each of these, I plan to just take my time instead of rushing through them to see the endings.

My plan, this time around, was to not accept the werewolf "gift" and simply continue doing jobs for the Companions and "live the life" for a while before progressing to the next stage of the quest. So I said no and went on my way. However, unless I'm missing something, no one is giving me any radiant quests now. Two of the quest-givers of course are in that cave waiting for me to change my mind, but (forgive me, I don't remember all their names), isn't there a third or fourth quest-giver? No one has the "looking for work" dialogue anymore.

Is this how it is with all the guild quest lines? They give you one or two radiant quests, then you have to do the main quest line, during which time radiant quests are disabled, then you become "leader" of the guild and can go back to the radiant quests? Like others, I don't like the dynamic of being the guild leader but in a way having to answer to my subordinates when it comes to doing quests and missions. This is why I wanted to play as a subordinate myself for a good long while and ignore the quest lines in favor of---as I said---living the life as a member of my chosen guild for a while.

Is this just not possible?

Oh well, such is the price to pay when you join a guild. You have to play by their rules. Thanks for the info.

First I didn't want to become a werewolf. So it's only at level 70 that I decided to join the companions. I drank blood and when I saw me a werewolf I felt uneasy. But I waited until I retrieve all 3 totems for Aela, after I cured the others, to cure myself. During all that time I never used the Beast Form power and I felt "normal" except when a guard told me: You smell like a wet dog!
