I usually role-play myself. Unless i role-play a girl, in which case she'll act like me but look hot instead ...

No, I think of what race my character will be and then figure out a backstory and motives for them then I give them an original lore-friendly name that sounds fantasyish enough. I just don't approve of using the admittedly boring names of real life people, like "Jack" or "John" or "Kevin" in a fantasy game.

My friend's name is normal but i named his character Blade. he's a Ninja Assassin that uses hand to hand and dual daggers. he quests to control the element that destroyed his life. fire. [i based that off of his house catching on fire in real life] He eventually comes to find the evilness of the DarkBrotherhood and destroy's them. he then goes to Morrowind to join the Morag Tong to atone for his sins.

Myself, a Redguard with an Achillies style of fighting(without the spear), and lately a Nord with the last name Baratheon that favors a war hammer if anyone else follows, lol.

Nope. But I tried to shape my gf after my Bretoness character. But she refused to make a forsworn
armor and wear it.

I just started a new game playing as myself. I mean really myself, not a powerful warrior version. I made a Nord (since I'm Swedish), looking as much as myself as possible. I will only take quests I actually think I could handle, I can't fight (but I think I can learn how to handle a bow) so I will depend on followers as bodyguards, I'll eat and sleep and change clothes regularly. I will look into alchemy since herbs and alternative medicin interests me (and since you can't work at an inn or in a store in the game making potions seems to be a good way to get an income). I will probably look inside at least one of the ruins since I'm an archaeologist, but get out of there quickly when I realize those places are crawling with things that want to kill me. And so on.

It'll be kind of a layed back game, a break from the greatsword-swinging, thu'um-using kick-ass warrior/thief I've been playing so far.

I roleplayed a character from my novel that I'm writing. It's pretty cool although I can't change into a cat at will!

Closest I've ever come is to playing someone IRL is when I got bored and made a Nord modeled after Rob Gronkowski. By which I mean I ran around punching things off of tables due to lack of being able to spike things, drinking a lot, fell on my head a few times, and just started swinging at anything that moved. Best two hours ever.

I haven't, but I remember a couple of months back someone on these boards said they were basing a character off his friend who died in the army. It was quite touching and I think it was a lovely thing to do, I can imagine it would have been a very personal experience.

In Sims 2 I do, because I can make them look like the people I know with that. In Skyrim I don't, the character creation is too limited.

I have yes, two character that I have retired a while back. The first one is based off a Paladin in the Game WoW. His name was Alarikk. He was the raid leader and helped to bring the guild through a lot of content from his Leadership. I have learned to become a leader myself through playing with him so I made a character in memory of him.

In the same game, there was this Rogue type character that I hade seen, me being Horde I could not communicate with her directly but she had saved me numerous times, also she had the best gear up to the date of the game being out and it was very reassuring. Her name was Ashril.
