Have you made the perfect character?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:22 am

I'm level 71 and I feel like I have the perfect character. He's a Breton necromancer and a master merchant. It's nice to have all the money perks, it means I don't have to fast travel to every city after I clear out a cave and can get out there and scout out the land. I like raising up the dead, the few remaining perks I have left I am throwing into raising my heavy armor rating so he can be good at close combat, for now he is relying on his mage armor perks. With enchantments he has almost 1000 magica and about 210 health.

Do you mean "unbeatable" or "enjoyable"? My character is far from unbeatable but one of the most enjoyable I've ever played.

I'm trying to make a LVL50 perfect build, above that it just feels like gaining extra cookies.

I've retired two character out of distaste for what they became. I'm not a big fan of Anti-heros, but this game seems to thrive on them. There's very little for a heroic character to do. Making my character modeled after Conan play dress up and start a fight at a dinner party so he can sneak out and steal something just ruined the story for me. He retired shortly after. My sneaky archer actually made it through the Main quests and the Thieves guild, but grew too weary of doing the needed radient quests to get the guild back on track... and ended up retiring instead. My current charcter is a wizard who is going to try to be "good" and eventually destroy the Dark Brotherhood. To me, it's not about the numbers... I don't even recall what level my characters were when they quit. The archer was in his 40s... the fighter in his 20s.

I ended the story missions as a lvl 50-something.

I specialized in one-handed weapons, restoration, heavy armor, smithing, and archery. I was pretty much untouchable.

The perfect character in my book is one that still has room to grow without changing it's playstyle. The more I play, the less room I have to grow.

I've gone through at least a dozen characters so far.

I had a pure mage wearing robes and relying on magic reg and got bored was still easy even on master just dodge everything and you are fine. Now have a overpowered lvl 62 khajiit sneak archer and its pretty easy on master mode but i really enjoy pulling off a head shot from a good distance. The whole Mage style of play in this game just bored me to death and this is coming from a person that explored all the Mage options in Dragon Age Origins.

i definitely don't go for the power build grinds anymore, but, instead look for the fun from diverse, multiple character roleplaying.

I haven't made the perfect character. Unlike most other people... I like that my character will eventually become a comically untouchable demigod. Since I'm not powergaming, min/maxing, or anything of the sort, he's progressing organically. I can sneak around pretty damn well, but I haven't used enchanting and/or smithing to make anything uber.

I'm still crushed at what happened to Adrenaline Rush, though. It was a fantastic skill in Morrowind and Oblivion, and it just doesn't hold the same excitement now -- even if it is still pretty damn useful.

What is the perfect character? that`s like asking `What is your perfect colour?`

Everyone has their own view of the perfect character.

For me having a Master Necromancer and Master Merchant is FAR from perfect.

My first character is level 41. I used him as a test to see how everything works. Of course he has become somewhat ineffective because I spread out his skills to widely making him a jack of all trades yet master of none. I just made a new Nord character though and he might be my perfect character. He only uses his fists.

He will be eventually. 80% physical reduction + 10% Deft Movement, 80% Magic Absorbtion and 45% Magic Res. Maxed One-handed, Archery and Destruction. 350/300/300.

Nowhere near as overpowered as he could be, but I refuse to utilize enchanting so I'd say it's not too shabby.

my character was a Nord who specialised in twin one handed swords but uses conjuration and enchanted weapons as support. I think he has worked very well.

He was first 100% smithing, one handed then heavy armor.

Restoration he has leveled up in as I always use fast heal, but I never wasted any points on the restoration tree as it wasn't needed. Magic I only leveled up just enough to cast a frost atronaut (though I find a flame atronaut seems a more effective ally which I use the most)

Things like speech etc I never wasted any points on the levelling up tree, but through plenty of selling items etc he has levelled up fast enough without having to do so.

Still on my first playthrough at about 50 hours. Got a lvl 47 Nord here with 100 in one-handed, heavy armour, and 98 in block and smithing with most of the perks maxed out plus some low level stamina regen enchantments (man, I love the shield bash). Nothing is bothering my character at the moment besides those Dremora/Daedra things and a few good mages.

Stepping on a few runes by mistake has got me interested in trying a mage character next though

Im almost up to level 38 now on the first character I ever made. Still love playing her and couldnt bear to start a new character until she has journeyed all the land and fought all there is to fight. However she has learnt some valuable lessons from giving in to her greedy side and finding the bitter consequences to her choices so is trying to walk a better path of rightousness..lol

I love my most recent character using HA, alchemy, smithing, enchanting, destruction and conjuration, she is literally everything in one, If I want touse bows, conjure a bow, two handed, conjure an axe, one hnaded, or dual wielding, conjure some swords, and i can use both destruction and conjuration whenever Iwant, and I fortified my destruction so it only takes 5 magika per incineration cast ^_^.

As perfect as I could want. I am a master conjurer that also specialises in one handed combat and sneak archery.

I don't really know. I guess .. i do. Cause i broke the game a couple of times.

I created weapons that would do 100,000 damage. I also level up every Magic Skill pretty fast i have everything at 100.

I would have to say. Not perfect, but maxed out.

There is no such thing as the perfect character. In my opinion one should always focus on making the perfectly coherent character, i.e. try to always stand true to his convictions. That's what I always do and, yes, in a way every character looks perfect to me.
