Having your own House in FNV?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:21 am

Does anybody know if you can aquire your own house in Fallout New Vegas? The same as you could either have your house in Megaton or the room at tenpenny Tower in Fallout 3. I really liked that aspect of having your own place in the game, not just for the storage aspect, but the whole thing of being able to personalize it (with the themes etc) & filling it up with your desired objects like the workbenches & science labs etc. I think it would be a great shame if this was left out of this game, as it is as equally engaging with lots to make & do, but with no 'home' to eventually work towards & take pride in making it individual, it takes it away from being true RPG in my opinion. Also makes it incedibly difficult to save up all you need for the making of weapons etc.
Please let me know guys if you know anything about this? Thank you.

You can get one in Novac. I don't know about other places.

Spoiler alert: You can gain a Motel room in Novac, and also get a room in the Lucky 23 Casino *Mr. House* on the strip. You can add things to your room in the Lucky 23 through a Terminal as you enter the room.

Just to make sure, the storage areas in your Novac motel room are safe, right? You can store stuff there without fear of it getting reset?

Go look around Victor. He can't fit through his own door.

If you're talking "home" as in the FO3 sense, then the only place that really comes close is the Presidential Suite at the Lucky 38. There are a couple places that you get, either for caps, rep, or due to quest actions that can serve as secondary homes. But only the suite at the Lucky 38 can be "upgraded" with things like a Work Bench. And even then, there's not much you can do to it.

Hell, I've been camped out in Easy Pete's house since the beginning and haven't had any problems. Got a bed, got a safe footlocker, and got a roommate who doesn't make too much noise or mind me coming in at all hours of the night.
