Heavy Armor Dual Wield Follower?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:15 pm

I'm looking for a permanent Follower who prefers Heavy Armor & will Dual Wield Swords. Are there any in the game?
I tried equipping Golldir with 2 Swords and he just switched to Bow until I give him a Shield. I'm playing as a pure Healer and need a Follower who can take some beating (Heavy Armor) while doing high damage rather than using Shield Block all the time..

There are several that are skilled in 1H/heavy but I dont know if they duel wield.

You could try to use console to take his bow away from him. These are the commands I used to remove Aela's hunting bow:

getitemcount 0010e2dd
Shows how many hunting bows she has
removeitem 0010e2dd #
Removes # of hunting bows

Thank you, svann. Are there any Follower who would do it without Console? I'm afraid it will ruin my game.

Followers can't dual wield. Your best bet is to get a 2h-wielding heavy armor'er.

Thank you, Project X.
Does a Follower with 2H have a lot more DPS than 1H & Shield? Well, they can still use Block with their 2H can't they? What is happening now is my 1H & Shield Follower keeps using Shield Block and enemies just won't get killed if he's gonna keep doing that.

Does that mean if I give them Heavy Armor, regardless of tier, they just won't wear them? Who is Jenessa?

Ops my mistake its http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Jenassa. They will wear some, but will probably end with less armor than in light.

I think it would be hard to go the whole game as a healer and letting the follower do the killing, the AI pathing and stuff is not the greatest, But i personally just use jardis and she uses the daedric armor and the battleaxe i gave here, she sometimes switchs to bows when they are far away though but i dont mind.

Im not sure if followers can duel weild, But i use my house carl to soak alot, i gave her daedric stuff and a batttleaxe and it worked. But going pure healer will be tough because of the AI pathing

Brelyna Maryon can also dual wield, 2 staffs of any kind. She is shown as an illusionist, but in practice she prefers summoning atronachs and dual wield staffs. With 2 fireball staffs she is deadly. She can also wear heavy and light armor, but not robes.

If they have good light armor skill and bad heavy armor one they might get worse armor rating in heavy armor, yes they might prefer daeric over their default leather but they would be better of with glass.

Don't mind if they equip bows, if they are primary melee they will switch to melee then enemies come close.

Re-equipping your followers has nothing to do with "what" they will wear. It is all based on Armor Rating given their skill. Some are more proficient in Light and others in Heavy, but if you use smithing with Fortify Smithing gear or potions, you can upgrade just about anything and they will wear it over their default set. It is not hard to get a follower to use Hide + Leather + Forsworn or Ebony + Daedric if you do the smithing first.

Clothes are a bit more difficult but can still be done with the use of 'Perfect Touch' or through buying pieces of their default set if they are your wife. Just always leave one piece (such as boots) and you can replace all of the rest.
