HEAVY Body Type

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2011 4:46 pm

I've been playing a Medic/Soldier lately (he was originally a Medium), but i'm trying out Heavy because of the help they got from the TU. Well, it doesn't seem like they got MUCH help really... Why?

I was just playing on CCity as Resistance (Campaign), and was alternating between the Chinzor/Gotlung, which both weapons STILL can't kill anyone, they might as well have the DMG properties of the Galactic...

You'd think a HEAVY Medic with 2 Pip increase, Improved Weapon Buff, and a KEVLAR VEST would be able to just MOW people down, right? WRONG. It takes me almost my entire 150 bullets in a clip of the Chinzor JUST to put a Medium/Heavy down. Also, ever since the Rhett got a boost the AI thinks it's the CARB-9 ALL over again.

They're literally killing me in 1-2 Shots with AR's, 3-4 with SMGs. A HEAVY MEDIC, with above mentioned buffs, dying in a few shots from a Rhett 1on1 with a Medium?!

I'm done being Heavy for the rest of my BRINK career, sorry. Really not worth it...

You need to try out the EZnade. That thing is the best thing the heavies have, next to the Hammerdein.

I'm sorry but if you still think the heavy is useless then u are just no good at using it. i myself have 'mowed down' other people, and i have seen other people destroy me using the heavy. just because it does not fit you play still does not mean its bad.

I used to own with the second MG teh heavies had (if playing on resistance it has zebra camo) with extended mag and six vent muzzle break. Havnt been a heavy since i finished tower Defence challenges. Scratch that i played it after teh patch for teh Shot gun and their ok i still think Meduim is the best. I took down 2 heavies with the CARB-9 today (drum mag) with out even sighting.

I love my heavy. I think the body type is best when coupled with the Soldier class, but I can certainly see viability as Engineer or Medic as well if in the hands of the right user. Don't see much point in a fatty operative, but that's not to say that it can't also be viable.

Heavy Soldier (+ kevlar + armor piercing rounds) + health + weapon buff + goltung/chinzor is an insane force to be reckoned with. I can literally hold back the entire opposing team if they try and come at me through any form of narrowed passageway. (like the hallway onto the submarine in Labs).

Then there's the litany of grenades at my disposal.....

TL;DR I <3 my Heavy.

EDIT: Grammar fix

Amish is actually one of the players that I've seen that uses the heavy really well. And he is right, a heavy can easy take out a team if used the right way. I used the heavy before but i switched to medium. now i think I'm gonna have to switch back to heavy because it feels like the heavy is the only one that can take out another heavy.

I still rip right through heavies. If I'm caught off guard, though, a Heavy is pure devastation. They're the ULTIMATE in causing pure chaos.

AWM has been teaching me some heavy tricks...and the thing that gave me the biggest problem was when i charged into the firefight like i was a medium or light. if you get flanked because you rushed past that one light that was crouching, it doesnt matter that you have your chiznor mowing down the next(first) guy you see, b/c between the guy you are fighting and the guy you missed, that's two guns v 1, and you can only shoot one direction at once.

but

if you make sure the individuals are down before you move on, then the clusters become little snacks that your big guns can chew up and spit out. i still kinda svck at it, but once i stopped trying to go rambo ("got big health, got big gun, look out for me, mowing down like a boss!") i can do ok. especially if there's some folks with me helping (and only if FF is off....not ready for that yet)
