Help appreciated :) Thieves' Guild.

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:47 am

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how many repeatable jobs I need to complete before I'll have "restored the Thieves' Guild to its former glory"?

I've completed "Darkness Returns" ages ago and, counting from the list of my com, pleted quests, I've now done over 40 burglary, numbers, sweeps, shill, fishing etc .... jobs since then.

I've done 3 "special jobs" too, resulting in 3 new vendors opening in the Ragged Flagon area.

However, still nothing about having restored the Thieves' Guild....

Anybody able to give me a rough estimate of how much longer it will take? I'm beginning to suspect this Achievement might be bugged or something. I'm playing on the Xbox360.

Thanks in advance,
Frustrated Cyrodiilian Sneak-Thief :ermm:

5 jobs in each of Windhelm, Markarth, Whiterun, and Solitude; after you finish 5 in one city you get a 'special job' for that city. So it looks like you're missing one of the cities. Where haven't you had a special job yet?

Edit: If you know which city you haven't completed yet, you can turn down a job from Delvin or Vex if it's in one of the cities you've already completed.

My God, I could kiss you!

But I won't .... this is the Internet ... you could be a weirdo

I'm going to go right now and see which city I haven't had a special job in.

I think it's Markarth.

Anyway, thanks a million

Bethesda really should've made this a little clearer in-game.

You do know that you can quite out of jobs without penalty, don't you?

So to get the last city ask either Delvin or Vex for a job of your preferred type. If its not in the city that you want immediately return to him/her, quit the job and ask for another. Then do the same to the other person. Both will moan about you quitting jobs but there isn't any actual penalty and it saves a shed-load of time and effort.

is there any real consequence for turning down a job to get one in a different city?

Nope, you just have to endure Vex/Devlin dripping for a few seconds.

Not that I found. Vex & Delvin will complain a lot, but that's all I noticed when I played through.
