help! a bug of entering DB sanctuary

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:38 am

Among join the Dark Brotherhood quest, I've completed killing one hostage in abandoned shack. I talked to the astrid, and she had taught me the pass is "silence,my brother" already.
But when I activate the black door, the pass just doesn't show up in my conversation options. So I try former save datas(after abandon shack) but it always happens into the same situation.
I tried using some console command to complete the quest, but it didn't work. It would still ask about the pass I couldn't answer.
I tried another character to do the same thing. Turns out it could open the gate.
I also tried uninstall all mods and plugins and even reinstall whole skyrim data, but it didn't work out either.
Is there any way to help my problem?

Are you sure you are at the sanctuary near Falkreath?

Try 30 days, that's the full reset period.

I also have this problem. In my case, I'm finding the door long after the abandoned shack incident.
I've tried waiting for both the 73 hours and 30 days in game, in a separate interior cell... this has not solved the problem of the missing passphrase dialogue.

I believe it is related to an error that I've been seeing suddenly: "[WETriggerScript <(0010477A)>] Warning: getMyHoldControllerMarker() myHoldOwner property expected to be 1 or 2, instead have: 0"
This began shortly after I installed a Nexus plugin called "Dovahkiin Hideout", it pops up whenever I move through a new wilderness cell, and I think it somehow broke the Black Door...

I luckily made a save right before I installed the plugin, and promptly checked if I could head to the Sanctuary and open it, and I had no problems.
However... if I go to the save directly AFTER I installed the mod, I have a script error pop up, and the dialogue is missing, so I cannot enter (without coc-ing).

It's too bad; I lost a night's questing and now won't use the plugin. I liked what he'd done with the basemant.

Yes,I do have the same message about "[WETriggerScript <(0010477A)>] Warning: getMyHoldControllerMarker() myHoldOwner property expected to be 1 or 2, instead have: 0".
But i didn't install the hide out mod. Maybe some other mod caused the same error.
Waiting script reset didn't solve it, and I don't have other former saves.
I guess I have to give up this character for playing DB quest.

I have the exact same problem as you. I tried waiting and reinstalling but neither seemed to work. After reading Steairn's post regarding the dovahkiin hideout I tried both hiding and removing it from the game, but it's still broken. I had no active mods at the time.

I may have a solution now. I removed a mod called Wars In Skyrim and then started a new game, the door works fine now and so do other things that have not been working properly for me.

Hmm, interesting. I had only installed a single plugin - the Hideout one, so I had no trouble deciding what might have caused the script error.

IceApe, did you try removing the plugin AND loading a save from before you had installed it? It seems like after the problem plugin is enabled, there is no turning back...
I'm glad that you've found your particular problem mod, but I know that it can be frustrating to lose progress - maybe give this a shot if you still care for the character?

This problem might disappear now that the creation kit is out, here's to crossed fingers!
