Hi All,

I have the PC version of the game, when I try to load a save game Fallout crashes, I have restarted my computer and nothing seems to help, Now I am several hours in and cannot load my games!!

i have checked the Windows Event Viewer and the error I get is :

Any idea anyone??

Same problem here

Every time I try and load a saved game it simply crashes. It was fine before, now I am 10 hours in and can't load about my last 10 saved games.

Same issue it crashes if i try and load my quick auto or last three manual saves. Anyone have any Idea's or known work arounds?

i managed to load a save that doesnt crash

It seems that once I complete the quest Come fly with me, any save game after that will crash when loading.

Ive decided to not complete the quest now and move on and hopefully wont this issue again, although thats never likley to happen i bet the next quest that gets completed causes the same #&!t

nevermind .. what a load of crap, seems that quest HAS to be completed in order to progress with the main questline.

That is where my issues start as well. Right around the time the rocket is going to be set off.

Oh god your right its only my saves from before that quest that still work. Godamn it there goes four hours down the drain thanks anyway I really hope I don't hit anymore bugs I'm a die hard fallout fan and this has me about wanting to quit all together. Your right I cant do anything else without finishing that quest. Thats it this has to be my biggest let down of the year and that's even expecting it to be buggy.

i got it fixed not really how though, here are the thing i did have no friggin clue which worked but now after 4 hours of troubleshooting it works:

1. uninstall- reinstall game
2. uncheck the readonly attribute on the Saves folder
3. copy the saves folder to the installed directory and update the master.ini file to reflect the change - master .ini file is in the installed directory
4. turned off all Auto Saving in the game
5. “iSaveGameBackupCount=1″ to “iSaveGameBackupCount=0"

tried those things and started to slowly advance in the game saving every 30seconds and loading to check for crash, seems to work now

good luck, i wish these a$$hats had done some real testing before releasing the game...

I think it is working now. I was just able to save and load a game after finishing the quest. I had to drop the spacesuit I had picked up...somehow this is causing the issue?

i dont think so, i had the spacesuit all along and still have it...

and a couple other things, if you are in offline mode for steam, try going back to online mode

then re-sync the cloud files

then do the data integrity check thru the steam (pile of sh!t) client.

It was 100% the spacesuit for me.

what pi$$es me off most about this save game bug is that this seems to be connected to Steam. I grew up playing single player games b/c thats all there was 15-20 yrs ago. Now every game has to synced, registered online, and acheivements displayed in cyberspace. I DONT CARE about achievements or showing off trophys. I just wanna play the DAMN game!! Way to go Bethesda
