Hello.

First off let me say that I love this game!
Between 3 and New Vegas, these are the best ever!

Now I am having trouble with a bug.
I am about 10-15 hours in and I can no longer save my game without it freezing.
I am at the NCR Correctional Facility in the Administrator building.
Once I walked in the door and killed everyone, I tried to walk back outside.
It goes to the loading page then goes black and freezes my 360.

Now I disabled the Auto Save feature and I am now able to walk back outside.
Actually, it plays like normal. I can fast travel, go into other buildings, and kill things.
Once I am back out in the world, I enable the Auto Save and walk into a building.
This time it doesn't even go to the loading page. Instead, it just freezes on the spot.

I have done this over and over looking for different ways to make it now freeze up, but I just cannot get it to stop.
Even manually saving freezes the game now.

My last manual save was about 7 hours before the freezing started. I really don't want to have to replay that 7 hours again.

I have also cleaned out the hard drives cache, yet the same problems happens.

Please, if anyone knows how to help me out I would greatly appreciate it!
Like I said, I love this game and it would be a shame if I have to give up on it just because of a bug.

I would also love to play the DLC that was just released, but I won't purchase it if I am still having these problems.

Im having a similar problem. Without the update the loading screen freezes. And with the update, as i enter a building the loading screen works fine, but when its done loading the screen goes black and i have to shut my xbox off. And it started happening around the same time yours did.

I heard of a lot of people experiencing troubles with autosave function. First of all, a "stupid" question: do you reached the saves limit (100 saves)? If so, just delete some of the older saves.
If not... well, try to load your last working save and check if the game goes right.
I had a freeze only 2 times in almost 100hrs of playing (both patched and unpatched)...

I have only made one manual save so far.
If I would have known that this was a buggy, I probably would have saved every hour.
But like I said, the one save was about 7 hours from where I am at now and I really don't want to play all of that over haha.

Hi,

I really would recommend that you are go back to your old save-game about 7h ago.

It′s a huge map and a ***load of quest so it′s still far away from doing the same 7h again TBH.

Return to manual save and from then on i really advice you to : never Quickload, never Quicksave,
never autosave (set all autosave options OFF),
never choose Continue Game from Main Screen and if you Load a Game return to the Main Screen.
Most important NEVER overwrite an Save Game that could cause a scripting issue too.

There is really no need to save every 5 minutes or having 100 savegames.
I mostly save every 30 minutes and before Quests and i mostly have up to 25 saves not more.

I was messing around a lot with my game or better say BETA TEST it to the max, just to test many quests and things.
And i was running into no major bugs or glitches using this method. (I entered every Vault and visit locations just randomly with no probs)
Of course New Vegas FREEZE on me but luckily only 2 times at the Hoover Dam on Legion attack.


This Method i use has nothing to do with Bethesda or neither Obsidian Games, i am likely to use this on every open-worlder.
Believe me you are having a much better experience since the
GAMEBRYO ENGINE in specific is very sensitive with scripting.

P.S : They always recommend to clear the X-box Cache (not the Game Cache) when people experience Bugs n Glitches.
Let me say that helps A ***.
