Help me find a home: console gamer trying to get by without

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:43 am

I'm thinking of RP'ing a nord who lives out in the woods somewhere either as a woodcutter or farmer (pref woodcutter so i've got a steadier income) and was wondering if anyone knew of any houses i might find suitable. Obviously it would need a sleepable bed and chopping block if i'm playing the lumberjack, storage is not so much an issue, or anything else that will add to the "living off the land" feel. The story is i'm gonna just work and try to live peacefully for a while until the stormcloaks come a knockin' and try to drag me into the civil war. So yeah anyone have any ideas? I'm not too fussed about which part of skyrim it'd be situated in but being somewhat close to a town would be good to sell off wood and get supplies.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Alchemist%27s_Shack has a bed and has one container that does not reset. It contains no chopping block but is near Ivarstead, you could rp that you work at the mill there, if you were on the pc you could spawn a chopping block.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Meeko%27s_Shack is just across the river from a mill.

Spoiler

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Half-Moon_Millseems perfect for you as the original inhabitants are vampires and could be killed off, saldy I do not know if you can sleep in the beds or if it has any safe containers.

There's also plenty of other unmarked hunter shacks located around Skyrim.
Spoiler
Drela's Cabin can also be used once Drela has been killed. He's always hostile so don't feel bad about killing him. Its NW of Whiterun I believe. A decent sized home with a chopping block if I recall.
