Help me get back into the game

Hi!

I have a serious problem in Skyrim at the moment. I can't get into the game anymore.

On my first playthrough, I played a sneaky character that conjured atronachs and raised the undead but stealth got boring after a while. Boss fights weren't epic but ridiculous, I always had to hide, shoot him, hide again till he suddenly forgets me, shoot again and so on. And normal enemies were too easy with either backstabbing, shooting them with arrows till they die without seeing me, or sending an atronach that does the work for me.
I only played through the mages guild with him, the other main questlines I started, but didnt go far into yet. So there still is A LOT to discover and do for me technically.

But now I can't decide on playstyle. I only so far played the mages guild with this character, which really disappointed me due to the lack of ranks and the really short storyline. Now here's my problem: I'm not that interested in playing mages guild again, although it would be okay for me. I'm not interested in the Companions because Im just not a mercenary (the first quest was beating a woman without them even say me WHY she has deserved this). I love Thievery and think the Thieves Guild could be interesting, but I hate that they are such digs, I mean the first quest is about sending an innocent person to jail for no apparent reason, WTF), plus everyone says that they make Rifton a terrible place to live. I also love the Dark Brotherhood, the whole principle about a family that worships a dark god and so on, but I just can't find a Roleplaying reason why to join them. As I said, Im not a mercenary and I dont want to be that, but I also want to be a generally neutral person, so not necessarily good, but killing people for the joy and no reason is pure evil.

Now Im left with no guild to join, and the two I would probably like the questlines are the stealthy ones, and as said above, I don't like how stealth plays out in mid to endgame.

So back to playstyle. Without looking at the guilds and what I can do in the game, a pure thief is no option. So Mage or Warrior. I like more subtle magic such as Illusion or Conjuration, and I think I don't like destruction. If I choose to use magic, I want it to be rather special and I wouldn't want to spam my magicka through fireballs. So for an offensive skill, there is One-Handed, Two-Handed and Bow. I hate two-handed so there's only one-handed and bow.

So far so good. So this character rather engages in melee combat and uses his spells as support. What armor would fit him? Because it's melee, it would be heavy armor.

Buuuut here's the biggest problem: I can't make a good-looking, young male character. I don't want him to have a beard, but thats a problem, because without, he looks just ridiculous. I don't know why, but Ive tried a lot and I failed and making a decent-looking character that I actually like to play as. And I don't want somebody with a beard or shrinkles. That's a big problem.
I also tried other races, but I never get satisfied with them. Argonians and Khajiits I tried out, but they are to alien for me. Orcs fall under the same category. The Elves ... When I try a dunmer, he looks too old, too serious. High Elfs are no option, because the dragonblood can't be a high elf, its impossible. Generally, I think the Dragonborn has to be a human. A representative of the humans. Wood Elves look silly and I cant get into them.

Then I found a character I actually liked. SHE is a young Breton. She looks beautiful. But then again, there are 2 main problems with her:

1) She looks so innocent. Yes, theoretically I could say that this is her cover and in fact shes evil. And I could imagine that she is light-hearted and likes to steal just for the kick, and generally doesn't take everything too serious. But I fail to imagine her tricking a person so he/she must go to jail, or burning their property with no given reason. Or even kill people for fun. That makes her rather unsuited for thieves guild and DB.

2) She's a she. I know it sounds anti-women, but could you imagine a small tiny girl running around in plate armor and bashing through enemies with sword and shield? That makes her rather unsuited to what I want to play, and unsuited for the Companions (just to mention it).

Now I don't really know what my exact question is. Im just searching for advice how to get back into one of my favorite games ever (I know its far from perfect, but its exactly my type of game).

So, since its a long post, Ill summarize my conflicts:

- I played a stealth character and didn't like mid- to endgame due to the lack of action, epicness and the big changes in difficulty
- Now I want to play a character that uses magic, but only indirectly, not through destruction spells
- Since there's no other option then, Ill have to go melee
- That means heavy armor
- All this doesn't fit to what I want to do ingame: Especially thieves guild and dark brotherhood interest me, finished mages guild already, no interest in companions due to their mercenary work
- My current favorite character-option is a female and therefore, doesn't fit into heavy melee combat

Yeah, that's about it. Thanks in advance for any kind of help that you can offer.

Wow, your logic, no offense, is completely wrong in regards to playing a TES game

Though I agree with you about the dragonblood thing, that it feels wierd to not be a human (P.S anybody can be dragonborn).

I laughed at that companions quest, its radiant, so it could be anybody you have to beat up, don't let that stop you from playing it. Thats just ridiculous.

My opinion: Make the character you want, and just play him, try as many different playstyles as you want until you find one that works.

Stop thinking so much dude, just relax and play the game.

I think you should lie down for a bit...Read some WoT, book five 'Fires from Heaven' (i think thats about the right one) then come back into the game as a bad ass Aiel woman with spears (oh, no... I mean swords)

Outfit her in light armor, with two swords and learn to dodge and strike. No shield for you...

Conjure up a distractor, then slip in and out with furiously fast attacks.
