Dear all,

After I've spent days in the game and I've come pretty far already, it has somehow saved at a point where a Droud is attacking me (a powerful one) and I'm on almost no energy.

It has saved 3 times at the same position.

Everytime I spawn - boom I'm dead again. There are no other save points.
What can I do???? Please please help me! Any chance Bethesda can recover some of the previous auto save points?!?!

I really don't wann start from scratch.

Do you play on PC or console? Wait what? Your auto saves saved at the place where you are getting killed?

Just load up one of your earlier saves. You are keeping at least 3 or so saves on top of your auto-saves, right?

If not, try to sprint out of there and go into stealth and hope you shakehim.

I can't even move. As soon as it's loaded - I'm dead. All 3 autosaves are at the same position. I have no idea how that can even happen! I can't save in the middle of a battle.

Sounds like someone played a prank on you.

Do you have any Dragonshouts or healing potions? If not your screw'd... Best to learn from the mistake and start anew.

Do you have any shouts, potions, etc. that you could use to buy time to sprint away? Try pressing B constantly as it is loading up. Recovering overwritten saves would be almost impossible. Just as a PSA for anyone else, you can keep an unlimited number of saves, well, up to your memory capacity. I have about 100 I think.

The weird thing is, autosave should never happen when you are in combat.

Ok, as soon as it is loading start pressing "B" very fast. This will pull up your menu and you can drink some potion, eat some foodm etc. Then sprint out of there, sneak, whatever. Had the same thing happen to me with 5 draugers around me. Just keep trying that and it should work.

Had a similar thing happen to me once, reload, dead, reload, dead. Never ending cycle if left on it's own.

I started a new character and started habitually manually saving before and after battles. Just in case.

Their isn't a save point as you entered that room? last room? svcks. Don;t delete until after you leave a dungeon. And change your save settings when you do manage to get outa their.

Not on a console. Yeah just figure out a good saving system if and when you have to start over. That stinks dude.

Unfortunately the answer is no, their are settings for your save's so that you can have as many or as few as you want. PC maybe a different story.

I get what you're saying about your autosaves, but don't you save the game manually, too? You should have tons of older saves you can go back to. Even if you lose a couple of hours going back to the last one, that's a lot better than starting all over. Or did never ever save on your own and only use auto-saves?

That's what I'm trying to understand from you.

Because if you have your own saves, just go to one of those, and get on with it. If not... ouch. Tough way to learn this lesson.

have you turned the difficulty down to novice? it should lower the draugrs damage, might give you a chance.

This is the last thing to try, if that doesnt work... Just learn from the mistake and have 3 main saves aswell as your 3 auto saves.

I am also on a 360. This happened to me in a different location (my 6 year old thought it was hilarious) but I have about 130 saves because I save manually OFTEN (I am a saving nut). I loaded a previous save and was fine. If all three saves are impaced, I am sorry, but I think you are SOL. If you don't manually save, you should start.

Changing difficulty is a good idea. I would TRY bounding B to bring to see if you can bring up the menu and take a potion to restore your health before you die.

**Edit- I see the B button idea didn't work- sorry to reopen old wounds...

If you cant open the menu then you may be boned, unless you just keep loading it up again and again to see if the behavior doesnt always load the same each time, that way you may be able to bail one time.
If you can pause the game, try adding another save and loading that, it may displace the combat situation.
Strange bug considering you cant even autosave in combat, plus the duplication...maybe worth email beth for tech support with a copy of your save (use a usb) and email it to them.
Good luck, but other wise, bite the bullet and load an early save, if you really have no true saves, only auto saves, lession learned beths games auto saves are not to be trusted, alway save properly before quiting at the very least.
I run ALOT of saves hardly had to use them ever, lucky to have had a flawless exp with mw ob fo nv and sk but id rather be safe than sorry. A fight problem is nothing compared to a game breaking bug, that needs you to work out when/what you did to trigger it, then reset at that point and dont/un do it.
