Help - I hit the wrong key and screwed it up

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:16 pm

I was plugging away at my modding and while looking in another internal location, wolfskullcave02, I accidently deleted the M06RitualLightEvil item. (Big Blue Ball of light) in the potema sequence. I checked and it is perfectly fine in skyrim.esm, but it was the one in my mod that was active. I was forced to save because I had hours of modding done on my other level and did not want to lose it. (I though it was the lesser of two evils) Boy was I wrong. Now the entire quest line and sequence is dead. all from that one item. I tried to load another mod and copy the wolfskullcave02 blue ball from there and back to mine but i cannot (cross mod paste). Are there any other options for me, or am i doomed to having my mod file with a screwed up Potema quest line?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And please - speak in small words and slowly as I am just learning this stuff :)

Start the CK. Click on your mod. Click on Details. Look for M06RitualLightEvil. If it is there, click on it, and hit the delete key on your keyboard. A message will ask if you want to set the ignore flag on that item. Choose yes. Make your mod active, load it, save.

Don't remember if this works for deleted assets, though..

OK. So is the detail tab the place that shows all of the items I have altered that are different than the master file? If so, then by deleting them in here, am i in essance telling it to use the master copy again?

That's correct.
