Help a little pls (PC)

Just installed the game and I have few things to sort out: How to open the console to how to set fps? Id like to set a bit lower fps bcs the game runs all the time around 300-450 fps and makes gfx cards too hot (80-90 C/85% fans). Another thing is that I have somewhat annoying stuttering so how to get rid of it or reduce it? It looks like the game runs @ 60 Hz but how to make it sure?

(specs and settings just in case: core i7@4.2Ghz, Asus R2E, 6 GB/1600MHz, GTX570 SLI, 120 Hz 22" monitor @ 1680x1050, dynamic polling rate 500-1000 Hz on mouse, 1000 Hz pollingrate on gamepad, 850W PSU. Game graphics: High graphics, med shadows, no ambient occlusion, AF x18, AA SLI16Q)

Thanks in advance, and sry bout bad grammar.

PS: Is this forum for everybody or just pc users or just console users? If this is for everybody there should be separated forums for every users. Sry bout bad grammar.

I don't know about the console but stuttering is probably a connection issue
if you bothered to look around the forums tons of people consider the game very laggy

nice system btw ;)

Is your stuttering only occurring during online play or all the time?
You can activate the console with ALT + CTRL + ~, or you may add the command line, "+com_allowconsole 1", to the launch options for Brink or to the autoexec.cfg (which is located in, "Steam -> Userdata -> "numbers" -> 22350 -> local -> base, you'll also have to create the autoexec.cfg file with extensions shown so that you can make the adjustment to the file to be recognized by Brink) to just use the ~ key (it would seem easier with the first shown way, lmfao, however I would use an autoexec.cfg to add any command lines to alter the games graphics or anything so that you do not alter the base/original config).
I would first load up your game and turn everything off, then access the console and use "r_shadows 0" to turn off the shadows entirely, then work your way up from there to hopefully find the culprit that is racing your video card.

ok thanks for replies. Well time will tell how things evolve... progress, or w/e is right word lol. fps command is still "com_maxfps"? There wasnt any fps command in the cfg. God I hate always this newbie period. And when I do autoexec.cfg the game reads it automatically or should i execute it every time (errrr why it is "autoexec" lolol)?.... lol Im so suspicious:) Stuttering appears to be at least on single player however I havent played mp yet.

Here's an odd thing about Brink. It's always set up to function like a multi-player match. So when you set up to run single player, your system starts the server, then bots join you.

This is in practice fine, except the server is hard capped at 30 FPS. So that could be part of the problem.

If you use autoexec.cfg, the changes should be propagated to the primary config file so it only needs to be read once. At least, that's what I've been told.

Sry bout my Engrish, but do u mean the game runs at 30 fps? Eventho Afterburner and the games on-screen info show way higher readings... Btw I tried to find an answer for that fps capping seems there are tons of brink gamers who asking the same lol. I think only way for now to cap it is to set vsync on so then it will be like 60 fps or 120 fps.
