Had to talk to the Jarl at Dragonsreach needed his help to complete a task. He wanted me to do something first, he wanted me to speak to the greybeards to call a peace between the Imp-Army and the StormCloaks before he woud help me. This I did, the greybeards asked me to talk to the General of the Imp-Army and the Head of the Stormcloacks to see if they would hold talks with the GBs.

The Imp-Army general said ok , I then when to the palace of the Stormcloaks to get him to go to the peace talks. But when I hit E facing him , he just said talk to his "general" as I had something to do first?> then I remembered i was going to join the SC's but had not done the quest, I didn't want to join any side at that point. Anyhoo, I go and do the quest , I come back and the head of the SC's and his general are in talks. The icon was above the generals head but as they were talking he would not answer me. So I waited until the finished, the general was telling the leader of the SC's he should be King and he knew of a "Jagged" Crown of old. Anyhoo, the leader of the SC's says that he should take me with him to get this crown.

But everytime I hit E to talk to the general , he would just start at me with - How did you get his boss - leader of the SC's to agree to go to a meeting with the Imp-Army General .. 1 I never got the chance to asked the SC's leader to go to the peace meeting as everytime I hit E he said I had a task to do first and I should see the general " this was the ice wrath quest to join the SC;s". So I did this , thinking it would trigger the other tasks and I could then talk to the leader of the SC;s and get him to the meeting.

Like I said when I came back the 2 were talking about this Jagged Crown and anything I tried to talk to the SC leader nothing would happen and when I spoke to the General who I was now supposed to go along with to get this Crown. Aagain I hit E and nothing, all the general no questions would come up and all he did was keep repeating that I had got his boss to agree to go to the peace meeting with the Greybeards.

Totally stuck , Hitting E to talk to the Leader or General of the SC's does not work .. and even though I have still to ask the leader to go to the meeting ( a task still to be done when I hit J ) when I try to speak to the General I can't ask him anythng as well and he goes off on one asking me how I managed to talk his boss into meeting the Imp-Army General...

There is a serious bug that can affect Season Unending's Peace Treaty option, coming from a variety of quest lines.

• If you have joined the Stormcloaks:
  
  • If you started http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Joining_the_Stormcloaks, Ulfric will not speak to you except to tell you to complete your mission.
    
  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Jagged_Crown_(Stormcloaks) quest will likewise cause Ulfric to refuse to speak to you until it is completed.
    
  • As a result, Ulfric won't speak to you starting from the moment you request to join the Stormcloaks until the end of Jagged Crown.
    
  • When Season Unending and The Jagged Crown are both active, if you have not already talked to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Galmar_Stone-Fist, he will refuse to talk to you. This can be prevented by finishing either quest line before starting the other.
    
  • If you have started A Battle for Whiterun, it may not be possible to complete the Peace Treaty option. Upon conclusion of the Civil War, the game will mark off the treaty as concluded successfully.
    
  • Workaround:
    
  • Upon completing the objective in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Joining_the_Stormcloaks, speak to Galmar, but do not take the oath. Ulfric will now talk to you and you can proceed with the peace treaty.
    
  • Upon completing the objective in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Joining_the_Stormcloaks, enter the Palace of Kings and proceed to the room where Ulfric and Galmar are debating and instantly talk to Ulfric. Reportedly, it requires multiple attempts of requesting to talk before he finally does but once he talks to you, you will be able to continue the Season Unending quest as normal.
    
  • One possible fix is to use the console and enter "setstage mq302 30" which will skip to the step after you talk to Ulfric.
    
  • If you are still having problems use this command in console "Resetquest MQ302" This will force the quest to start from the begin again *Note: that quest journal doesn't change* This will allow you to continue with the starting quest for the Storm cloaks such as Jagged Crown.

You are on PC, i assume - try the console commands above to force the quest on.

As I had not done this before going to him to get him to the peace talks, and thus not being able to ask him to go to the peace talks. I did the Quest to join the SC's to trigger the other quest tasks, but as I said when I came back after completing the task I could not talk to the general to say I had completed it.

Its as if the 2 had moved on to this Crown quest, and I could not tell (E) the general that I had done the task that I needed to do to join the SC's.

Could not even ask him about the Crown task , even though I heard Ulfric say to him , take him with you when you go to find the crown.

I will give it another try , but if that fails , what do I need to put into the Console command to kick start it ?
