Ok so I bought this game on steam and I tired to launch the game and I watch the movie ooo it looks cool and all and then it starts to load the game and stops. It sends me back to my desktop with a message that says FalloutNV has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. ect... I just launched it again for the last time and it opened up the menu clicked play and didn't even start it up the error happened again.

Ok I see 2 possible issues with solutions to try.

1. ASUS Xonar
2. 2 audio solutions are installed.

Solution 1. I forget the name, but uninstall the software the comes with the ASUS Xonar. (Game OSD or something? Damn my terrible memory.) This is a known issue with the Gamebryo engine. (P.S. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1131292-asus-osd-causes-ctd/page__pid__16574762__st__0&#entry16574762.)

Solution 2. Go into the BIOS and disable the Realtek chipset. (Probably under 'integrated peripherals' or some such.)

Then try the game again.

edit: Changed disable to uninstall.

If you haven't already done so you also need to verify your files integrity thru steam.
