Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics. General topics about the the game include but are not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. This also includes console commands, and character build exploits.

I will move this now.

I think the game behaves badly when you don't do The Fallen, The World Eater's Eyrie, and Sovngarde right in a row.

I've seen people post similar problems when they've left and come back and think reloading a previous save is the only non-solution. :o

Maybe someone will come along with a fix, but I don't think there is one. :(

You serious? What if you take a break right after the peace council? (The Fallen is then half done) I like to take a break whenever I can between major quests (and if it works story-wise), but if even that breaks the game ...

I was kinda hoping to level up my smithing skill after the Peace Council, so I can parade around in Dragonscale armor during the rest of the MQ quests ...

IDK for sure - I've just read a few issues like this one.

I've only done the MQ all the way through once and I just fell into the Sovngarde portion when I did The Fallen. I may have saved in Sovngarde and come back to it, but I definitely made it to Sovngarde after starting The Fallen without stopping.

On my second playthrough I'm in the middle of The Fallen wherein my next step is to talk to the Jarl of Whiterun. I think once you enter the Balcony you have to at least get to Sovngarde to be safe, but I'm not sure. :(

Hmmm... well that should mean I should be able to finish the peace council without problem and roam the world a bit after that, before returning to Balgruuf and catching the dragon. I'll try it anyway, and see how it ends.
