Help with sneak & multiple followers

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:30 pm

I installed the multiple followers mod and since that every time I go into sneak, the followers leave me... I have to run back to them and talk to them for them to follow me again!

I removed the mod and the same behaviour still happens.

That's where I started, but the topic is locked and I cannot post my problem, and a search on "sneak" gave me a list of problems related to followers sneaking or drawing their weapons. My problem is that as soon as I sneak, the followers turn back and leave me as if I had dismissed them! And, that is now happening even though the mod has been properly removed!!!

That mod seems to have a large number of loose scripts that are placed in your Data\Scripts folder.

When you removed the mod, did you delete those files? If you didn't, some of them will definitely continue to be functional, as they overwrite vanilla scripts. (Scripts like that should really be packed inside a .bsa archive by the mod creator, so that they are deactivated when you disable the mod.)

And did you continue playing from a save created before installing the mod? Sometimes some mod data, like references to scripts get stored in your save, and continue to have an effect there. (The first question may actually be more critical than this one.)

@Inki

I did check the script directory and the .pex files were removed. Now your second question is a good one... NO I did not go back to a save before the mod installation because it took me quite some time to realize what was happening when I sneak (usually just before entering into a cave/dungeon - I thought that they were just not following me inside!)

I guess I will have to try an earlier save... 8-(
